CCLAW is a volunteer / foster based, licensed 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization, that does rescue and TNVR for cats in Cedar County. CCLAW is it's own etinty.

Cedar County League for Animal Welfare (CCLAW) is a volunteer based, foster to adopt, non-profit, licensed 501 (c)(3) organization. All donations to our organization are tax deductible. Our organization is run by former animal rescue / shelter board members and volunteers who have life-long experience with animals. The stray, homeless, and feral cat population is an issue in many areas, and Cedar County is no exception. We work tirelessly to keep this population under control through our trap, neuter, vaccinate, release (TNVR) program and via rescue through our foster to adopt program. We are a NO KILL organization, with exceptions made only under extreme circumstances for animals who are unable to be helped, and such decisions are not made without the guidance of our trusted local veterinarians. CCLAW maintains positive working relationships with many animal shelters and non-profit rescues throughout Iowa which allows us to network and ensure the best possible outcome for all cats in our care.

BREAKING NEWS ‼️

KITTEN NUMBER 6 HAS BEEN FOUND SAFE!

We got a message from a homeowner about 2 blocks from where momma has been caring for her kittens that they had a kitten at their house. When we got there we showed them a picture of momma, they confirmed it was her they had seen before, and when we walked around the yard this sweet soldier starting crying when he heard our voices. Came running out of a bush!

Overall he is very very hungry but in good condition!

When we put the GPS collar on momma we saw her briefly go to this location twice but it was for short periods. It is hard to say how the little family got split up but we are SO happy they are ALL back together again. ❤️

WALNUT STREET MOMMA & KITTEN RESCUE UPDATE!

After 10 days we finally have momma reunited with 5 out of 6 babies! Unfortunately, we never did see the 6th one, and can only assume the worst.

This little family is off the streets - safe, warm, fed, and will never have to fight to survive again! ❤️

HOPE HAS BEEN RESTORED ❤️

📍 800 block of Walnut Street - Tipton, Ia

A few hours ago momma kitty brought 2 of the kittens back to the porch of a residence on Walnut street. The kittens were definitely* hungry but overall healthy.

We took momma and babies in for assessment. Babies were given vaccines, treated for fleas / dewormed and sent to foster care. MOMMA was in much better condition than what we had originally thought (and is very clearly lactating - though not sure how much supply). So, she received the same treatment(s) as the kittens, and we put a GPS tracking (breakaway) collar on her to try and locate the remaining 3 kittens. We also have cameras up so that we know right away if the other babies show up where we have found the others up to this point. Our goal is to reunite momma and babies VERY soon! 🐈‍⬛

And a huge THANK YOU to our friends at Paws of Hope Animal Rescue for loaning us the GPS collar to help keep track of momma! It really DOES take a village and we SO appreciate you. ❤️

📍 800 BLOCK OF WALNUT STREET - TIPTON, IA

CCLAW took one kitten (tabby with white) in on Friday 10/16 as it seemed to have been left behind. The mother had last been seen with all of the kittens the day prior on 10/15.

Since then, we have been trying to find the other kittens to rescue them all (momma + remaining kittens) at the same time.

Unfortunately, momma has been showing up again but has been demonstrating signs of deterioration in her health (eating less than usual and rapidly losing weight - can now feel her bones when petting her during feeding time). 😭 We aren’t sure if something happened to the kittens leading to her deep depression OR if something else is wrong. So, we are going to bring momma into custody for evaluation today.

PLEASE BE ON THE LOOKOUT FOR THESE BABIES!
If you live in the area check 👀 under decks/sheds/foundations and inside buildings.

❤️ From Supermom to someone’s special girl ❤️

MJ came to her foster via CCLAW as a young momma to one kitten of her own PLUS four bonus babies she lovingly raised as her own. She was a sweet, patient mama, and now that her mom duties are behind her, it’s her turn to be spoiled! 😻

She is a shy girl at first who likes to take her time getting comfortable in new places and around new people. She just needs a little patience to learn that she’s safe and can trust you. Win her over with some Churu treats and a catnip toy, and you’ll discover a sweet girl who loves being petted and purrs like it’s her full-time job! She even has a signature move: raising her little t**h into the air when the pets hit just right. 😂🐈

Once MJ feels at home, she’ll start finding her own ways to spend time with you. She might brush against your legs, hop up nearby to keep you company, or even surprise you by settling into your lap for some pets! She enjoys affection but isn’t a big fan of being picked up, although she will tolerate it. She’s a sweetheart, not a spitfire! ❤️

MJ loves a good afternoon 😴 in a quiet, tucked-away hiding spot. Later, she may emerge to explore the house, hang out with her people, or watch the birds from the window. She also coexists well with other cats and respectful dogs.

She may not be the first cat to greet a stranger at the door, but give her time and you’ll get to see her sweet personality shine. There is something very special about earning a shy kitty’s trust and watching her realize she’s home. ❤️

Could you be MJ’s happily-ever-after? If you have a little patience, a lot of love, and room in your heart (and treat budget) for a sweet former momma, MJ might just be your girl!

We rescued this sweet baby today. He has a family but it seems momma moved the babies and one little soldier got left behind. 😭

He was cold and very hungry! For the first meal after being rescued he ate some wet food and 40 cc 😮 of milk replacer tonight.

Rest assured, we are on the lookout for his momma 🐈‍⬛ plus his five siblings, and will bring them to safety once found. Please send positive vibes we can locate them again!

CCLAW is busting at the seams. 😵‍💫 We have taken in 16 kittens, 3 mommas, and 2 adult cats in the last seven days. Prior to this week we already had 15 kittens and 4 adults. In total, now have 32 kittens (of varying ages) and 9 adults in our care. We are a small but mighty group and we rely on your unwavering support to keep going! 🐾

So, once again, we are asking for WET kitten pate and formula. ❤️ These growing babies eat ALOT of food!
