This is an attempt to keep everyone informed on the happenings at HOPE and answer some frequently asked questions...
Loads of Love
We posted event dates for 2026 at the end of 2025. We gave our word that the program would run through 2026, and it will. We will continue to offer a Giving Table full of food, hygiene and whatever else we have donated to us.
We are always accepting quarters and cash donations to help support the cost of the service.
Volunteers are encouraged. We welcome individuals, youth groups, service groups, businesses and organizations. We would love for you to join us.
Donations
A Wish List Wednesday post is often made with items that are needed for Loads of Love, Street Outreach, and on the Wish List from clients.
We are always collecting food for the Giving Table, Street Outreach, Care Kits (drawstring bags) and food boxes. Foods that are precooked, prepackaged, prepared meals with pop top lids and high in protein are in high demand for the truly unhoused. Canned meats, cereal, and boxed milk are most often requested.
Hygiene items are always needed.
Household cleaning supplies and paper products are requested more than anything.
We pass out garbage bags in the Care Kits and food boxes and we often are in need of a roll of garbage bags to put together the Care Kits.
We receive donations from many individuals, organizations, churches and businesses.
We are dependent on the donations we receive to continue to serve others.
If you want to donate
Items can be mailed or brought to 1124 Millard Court Three Rivers MI 49093, mailed to PO Box 221 Three Rivers MI 49093 or call Casey Tobias at 269-718-8779 to make arrangements.
Resource Sharing
Items that are donated to us may be shared with other service oriented organizations, churches and businesses.
We have a long list of places that we share with by providing items they need that we have available thanks to donations we have received
ALL the places we Resource Share with offer the items they receive from us for Free to those they serve.
The Giving Sales
Held twice a year, Spring and Fall
Items that have been donated to HOPE and have not been given away, but stored in the garage are used for HOPEs fundraising events.
Items are offered on a "Take what you need, Give what you can" theory. Nothing is priced, and all offers will be accepted.
We ask simply that those who need items take what they need, and those who can, give what they are able.
Food Support
HOPE has worked with The Huss Project for over a year now to help supply the community with food boxes by donating the funds to purchase an extra 50 boxes which are distributed through Huss once a month.
This partnership doubles the households served in our community every month as Huss already supplies 50 boxes every month.
HOPE will continue this financial commitment throughout 2026.
Large food donations or perishable food may be resource shared with churches that offer meals or pantries.
We have access to 2 freezers and try to keep hot dogs and small packages of hamburger as well as other meats for food boxes. We provide food boxes in emergency situations and to many seniors and shut-ins.
Transportation
All transportation is provided by HOPE volunteers who receive no compensation.
HOPE does pay for the gas in the volunteers vehicle.
Transportation for medical and mental health appointments for those who depend on it is a necessity we offer.
It's requested that we receive 48 hours notice for transportation but understand emergency situations occur. We can not guarantee a ride as we are operated by volunteers.
Tents and camping gear
HOPE does not supply tents to the community.
HOPE has 11 campsites in 3 different campgrounds that allow us to utilize the camping sites during the season at a discount price.
We provide items to set the campsites up: tents, sleeping bag, cooking utensils and pans, dishes and wash bin, lanterns and charcoal (everything is usually packed in a suitcase on wheels).
While people are at the campground we are working with them on housing and all the requirements to transition into housing.
Last year we gave out 13 tents and 11 came back, we are set for this year.
HOPE is overseen by the Director, Casey Tobias 269-718-8779 from her house, 1124 Millard Court Three Rivers MI 49093.
HOPE is operated by volunteers.
HOPE supplies donated items to the most vulnerable in our communities.
Although HOPE works with, helps or receives help from many other organizations, churches and businesses, we are not responsible for any debt of any other entities.
We are not receiving funding from the state or government.
We are not collecting grant money of any sorts.
We are 100% donation funded by those that are like hearted and called to serve.
If you have any other questions please contact us.
Be Blessed 🐝
EDIT: We've been asked about the Nursing Home Outreach:
HOPE adopts The Orchards, formerly Edgewood on Wilbur Rd every Christmas.
HOPE provides a gift bag for every resident at the facility (last year we had 80!) filled with trinkets, gadgets, crafts, games, and more.
HOPE also provides handmade crocheted or knitted lapaghans and afghans, last year we delivered 28 blankets. These blankets are donated by our Caring Crocheters.
HOPE also attempts to treat the staff with lanyards, coffee mugs or water cups, sweet treats and trinkets.
All the items are collected throughout the year and donated to HOPE.
HOPE will continue this through 2026.
