Join us this weekend for our Becoming the Beloved Community: Continuing the Legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. events!
On SUNDAY, JANUARY 19, we'll host Becoming the Beloved Community 2025: Martin Luther King March and Celebration from 3:30-5:30pm. We'll march from Three Rivers City Hall to First Presbyterian Church Three Rivers/Centreville from 3:30-4:00 (shuttles from the church to city hall will be available starting at 3:00pm). Then we'll have a service of celebration from 4:00-5:00 followed by a reception. FREE children's books about Dr. King will be available, provided by St. Joseph County Great Start Collaborative/ Help Me Grow St. Joe. There will also be a resource table provided by GilChrist Retreat Center to peruse for ideas on books to borrow from the library or purchase from Lowry's Books and More.
On MONDAY, JANUARY 20, Becoming the Beloved Community 2025: Book Walk and Gallery will be available at the Three Rivers Public Library from noon-5:30pm (drop in whenever during open hours). The gallery features short reflections from TRAM Three Rivers Area Mentoring students on leaders who have worked for civil rights over the years.
We'll also host a Becoming the Beloved Community 2025: Healing Circle from noon-2:00pm at The Huss Project (registration required, link to register is on the event page).
Finally, we'll host a Becoming the Beloved Community 2025: Eyes on the Prize Screening from 7:00-9:30pm at The Huss Project, featuring two episodes of the acclaimed documentary series. The Beloved Community gallery will also be on display at Huss. There will be another resource table to peruse for ideas on books to borrow from the library or purchase from Lowry's Books and More.
