Global Horizons USA is an international student exchange organization whose mission is to foster educational & cultural exchange between USA and other countries of the world. We offer personalized and customized service to students, host families & schools both public, private day & boarding. We believe that learning about other cultures, languages and customs is the best way to eliminate fears an

d prejudices. We select students to our program based on their emotional intelligence (EQ). We're looking for active, responsible, positive, adaptable teenagers who are not afraid of the challenges associated with spending a school year (multiple years) abroad. They are talented musicians, artists, athletes and overall nice kids that can fit in and adapt to their host families and their environment. Each student no matter which country they come from go through a personal in-home interview and if selected into our program, have a pre-departure orientation together with all the students from their country.

Pre-Departure Orientation in the Netherlands

Another exciting step toward an unforgettable year in the USA!

We recently welcomed a fantastic group of future exchange students and their families at our Pre-Departure Orientation in the Netherlands, hosted together with our valued partner Paul de Koning - Kings Talent in s-Hertogenbosch (Den Bosch).

As departure day gets closer, these sessions are designed to help students feel informed, confident, and ready for the adventure that lies ahead. From practical tips to cultural insights, it’s all about making sure students start their journey with the best possible foundation.

A special thank you to Paul de Koning for his ongoing commitment to helping students explore international opportunities and take the next step toward a life-changing experience abroad.

Our team members Magda, National Director USA, and Johanna, International Head of Sales, guided the session and shared their expertise, personal experiences, and advice for making the most of a high school year in the United States.

It was wonderful to see so much excitement, curiosity, and anticipation in the room. The students are ready to discover new cultures, build lifelong friendships, and create memories that will stay with them forever.

🇪🇸¡Hola, Madrid! 🇪🇸

We recently had the pleasure of meeting an amazing group of future exchange students during our Pre-Departure Orientation in Madrid, organized together with our trusted partner Daniel Guibelalde – Experto en programas de idiomas en el extranjero.

As the countdown to their high school adventure in the USA begins, this orientation was all about helping students feel prepared, confident, and excited for the journey ahead. 🌎✈️

A huge thank you to Daniel Guibelalde for his dedication, support, and commitment to helping students discover life-changing opportunities abroad.

Leading the session were our own Magda, National Director USA, and Johanna, International Head of Sales.
Magda shared valuable insights about life and school in the United States, while Johanna brought her personal perspective as a former exchange student, host mom, and experienced admissions director. Together, they answered questions, shared practical tips, and helped students understand what to expect from this unforgettable experience.

The energy in the room was incredible. Curious minds, excited families, and students ready to embrace new cultures, new friendships, and new opportunities.

Our recent Pre-Departure Orientation in Spain brought together excited students from our valued partner Marta Arderiu from agency „WHERE & WHAT - Cursos en el extranjero“. Held right in the heart of Barcelona, the event was all about preparing for the big leap: high school abroad! 🌍

A heartfelt thank you to our dedicated partner Marta Arderiu for your commitment to shaping these life-changing journeys.

Leading the orientation were our very own Magda, National Director USA, and Johanna, International Head of Sales – both experienced professionals with deep roots in international education.

Magda shared valuable insights from across the U.S., while Johanna, herself a former exchange student offered personal tips, stories, and practical advice. With years of experience as an admissions director and host mom, she knows exactly what it takes to make an international stay successful and unforgettable.

🇨🇦 The countdown to Canada is officially on! ✈️

This weekend, our future Canada students came together for their final pre-departure orientation before starting their adventure abroad.

It was a day filled with valuable information, great conversations, new friendships, and lots of excitement for the journey ahead.
A very special thank you to Johanna Ziegler, our International Head of Sales Canada, who traveled all the way from Canada to be with our students.

As a former exchange student, former Admissions Director at Canadian boarding schools, experienced host mom, and long-time Canadian resident, Johanna brings a truly unique perspective and an incredible depth of knowledge to every student she supports.
We would also like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Nastassja Rose Hallgrimson, founder of High School Experts Canada. Her passion for Canada, her students, and her host families shines through in everything she does.

We are so grateful for the expertise, dedication, and personal support both Johanna and Nastassja provide to our students and families every step of the way.

An undefeated regular season and a championship title don't happen by chance. They are the result of hard work, determination, teamwork, and countless hours of dedication.

We couldn't be prouder of Francesco for being part of this remarkable success and representing his school with such commitment and sportsmanship. Experiences like these create memories, friendships, and life lessons that last far beyond high school.

Prom was definitely one of the highlights of my exchange year.

It’s one of those things you always see in movies, and actually getting to experience it myself felt surreal. Getting ready, dressing up, taking pictures with friends just felt special.

The whole night was so much fun. We danced, laughed, and just enjoyed every second together.

Afterwards, we had after prom, too, where you could just do all kinds of activities. Everything really felt like one of those “this is what an American high school experience is supposed to be like” moments.

I’m so grateful I got to be part of it. It’s a memory I’ll carry with me for a long time.

„The end of my exchange year …

… became very real during my host brother’s graduation. It was such an emotional and meaningful day, celebrating him while also realizing that my time here is coming to an end.
The past weeks, I spent a lot of time with my host family and friends, trying to enjoy every last moment. I even went back to the Arch in St. Louis one more time, which felt like a perfect full-circle moment.
Saying goodbye is definitely the hardest part. It’s not easy to leave people who have become such an important part of your life. But at the same time, I feel incredibly grateful for everything I’ve experienced. For the memories, I let a lot of people sign a board for me, which I’m gonna hang up in my room so I can always remember them and the time here.“
