Help Thurston County 4-H youth reach their goals by clearing out your junk! Donate unwanted scrap metal items to be turned into money for the Thurston County 4-H Youth Development Program.
• When: Drop off scrap metal items from May 5th – May 31st
• Where: Thurston County Fairgrounds (Follow the signs to the drop-off bin!)
• Why: All proceeds support Thurston County 4-H Youth
Some examples of items we’ll take are:
- Common Household (Iron) Metal Items: (i.e., metal bed frames, bbq grills, bicycles, metal shelving, metal gutters, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, etc.)
- Appliances: empty refrigerators, stoves, washers/dryers, microwaves, oven, etc.
- Auto Parts: rims, engines, transmissions, batteries, car body parts, etc.
- Other miscellaneous household metals: Christmas lights, copper pipes/wiring/electrical cords, brass fixtures, pots/pans/metal utensils, etc.

Since 2010, Tractor Supply has partnered with 4‑H to prepare youth to be ready for work and life. The success of the Paper Clover campaign has raised more than $24 million to impact local youth with the technical skills and life skills that prepare them for whatever comes their way.

100 percent of funds raised through the bi-annual Paper Clover campaign directly benefits 4‑H youth. Please support our 4-H youth at your local Tractor Supply Store April 17 - May 3, 2026.

**Give your outgrown show clothes a second life! Clean out your closet and help another 4-H’er shine in the ring!**
DROP-OFF DETAILS:
Bring your gently used, outgrown show clothes, shoes, and accessories from now until April 23, 2026 to the Thurston County Extension office during regular business hours: Tuesday-Thursday 9am - 4pm. If you have clothes to donate but are unable to drop off, contact either Alyssia Tekin at [email protected] or Kristin Nelson at [email protected] to schedule a porch pick up!
SHOP DAY:
Come find your next show outfit on April 25th, 2026. Visit us at the 4-H booth from 10am-4pm during the Youth Livestock Expo at the Thurston County Fairgrounds to shop for “new-to-you” show clothes at no cost. We will also be offering another “shopping” day closer to the Thurston County fair if you are unable to make it to the Expo!

🌸 Blossom into Leadership at Teen Rally! 🌸
Join us May 2–3 at Panhandle Lake 4-H Camp for an overnight experience filled with leadership workshops, camp activities, and the chance to connect with teens from across the region.

🕙 10 AM May 2 – 11 AM May 3

💲 $50 per teen

👥 Open to youth in grades 8–12

We’re also inviting adults (volunteers or community members) to participate in a leadership workshop focused on building stronger connections with teens—included with your teen’s registration!
