We know lots of folks are preparing for Summer Vacations, now that school is out.

Horse camping, destination horse showing, rodeos, competitions, fairs and other travel plans with the horses are underway for many of our members.

It's always good to have a packing list, especially if your destination is off the grid. This list from a Pinterest site is a nice template to follow for general Horse Camping & Traveling essentials.

We wish you SAFE TRAVELS & TRAILS!

Today’s ride was a great group of people and horses. Some were new to the club, some longtime members. We rode along county and private trail easements, using horse crossings when they were available. Today the drivers noticed us and stopped at Rancho CA Weins Winery crossing, love that.

Our tour took us alongside or thru the GORGEOUS VINEYARDS of Wilson Creek, Monte de Oro, Weins, Ponte, South Coast, Truffle Pig, Carter Estates and Lorimar Wineries. Weekday riding is the safest option and totally worth a day off!

Some who live nearby and could take their horse home first, too hot in trailers, came back for a delicious lunch. Others picked up their Wilson Creek Wine Club orders, then took horses home to cool off.

We appreciate our local horse friendly wineries and property owners, as well as Riverside County’s Trails Network. HAPPY TRAILS 🐎🍇☀️

It’s not too late to join this ride!

Our MONTHLY weekday Wine Country Rides are open to our current members and sponsored guests, as well as new riders in need of a sponsor. Come learn some Wine Country trails while riding with members of our TEWR Board of Directors.

The rides are small in number and perfect for ride planning teams from other SoCal clubs to join and learn Temecula trail loops, using some private trail easements and the county’s trails network.

You may join a ride, free from paying annual dues, as our guest. If the club is a good fit for you and your horse and a board member rider offers to sponsor you, you can join the club. Visit our website for membership information.

Experienced trail riders plan to meet in your rigs in the Wilson Creek Winery main parking lot nearest Hilt Rd. at 9:00AM on Thursday June 11, ride will start at 9:30AM, or earlier if ready.

You MUST have a TEWR waiver on file (valid for one year) write the ride date in the box that asks for your club sponsor’s name. Complete our club waiver here http://temeculaeqwineriders.com/complete-our-waiver.php before texting your RSVP to 951-515-9964. Current members please text your RSVP as well so you can be informed if there are any changes.

Weekday riding has less sensory, traffic and crowds in Wine Country, totally worth a day off. HAPPY TRAILS!

NATIONAL TRAILS DAY

National Trails Day falls on the first Saturday in June and recognizes the incredible benefits federal, state and local trails provide for recreation and exposure to nature. This National Day encourages people to discover their local trails become active concerning trail issues, and share their excitement for the outdoors!

We wanted to let everyone know that the TVRL trail maintenance team (managed by Joe K. and Kent T.) has cleared the Dan Stephenson Trail segment that connects the Valle de Los Caballos RCWD trail to Oak Mt. dirt road. Riders can use it to access trails to Leoness and Danza Del Sol Winery hitching rails, as well as many other trail routes in Wine Country.

Thank you so much TVRL, this is an excellent use of contributions made at the recent trails fundraiser event.

Using these SAFE important connector trails keeps riders off busy De Portola Rd. RCWD still has some construction project action, so be aware of higher sensory when riding thru the Valle de Los Caballos area nearby. We’ve shared RCWD project map as well.

Happy Trails! 🍇🐎☀️

🚨 BREAKING: California Highway Patrol has officially found a new way to enforce the speed limit. 🐎🌴☀️

Drivers crossing into California expected beaches, palm trees, scenic highways, and endless traffic…

What they didn’t expect?

A CHP officer on horseback holding a radar gun beside a giant “Welcome to California — The Golden State” sign. 😭

Somewhere along the coast, a speeding driver checked the mirror expecting flashing lights…

Instead, they found themselves being pursued by pure horsepower. 💀

Witnesses say confusion spread immediately.

“Is that a horse?”

“Is that a radar gun?”

“Can that thing legally issue tickets?”

Authorities have not confirmed whether the horse qualifies as a patrol vehicle, but residents say it’s still moving faster than rush-hour traffic in Los Angeles. 🚔😂

Only in California can traffic enforcement look like a Wild West movie sponsored by palm trees, ocean views, and a 65 MPH speed limit sign. 🌊🌴🤠
