Announcing VAIL RESORT RIDE!
Saturday, March 7, 2026

TVRL's 2024 Trailblazer Award Winners Glenn L. and Melanie H. will lead you from the resort's stabling area on wonderful trails for about 2 hours.

Arrive 9am, Ride out 9:30, Lunch 12:00, Park at Old Stables.

Non-riders are welcome to come for lunch.

Entire ride is beginner/intermediate. Trails include up and down small hills, windy single track through brush, single lane roads, stream bed sand, one 6 inch deep stream crossing. It's one of our favorite rides with something for everyone.Some rocks, therefore, unshod horses could use boots. Tick and bug spray recommended.

Vail Lake KOA charges $15 per rider. An annual KOA liability waiver must be completed to ride. Do this before the ride using the following links.

A wonderful lunch of sandwich/wrap, chips, cookie and drink is offered for $16 payable by Zelle or check. Choose your lunch item below and email to Laura at [email protected]. Laura will then supply the Zelle info.

-Italian Sub: Salami, ham, bologna, provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato and banana peppers on a hoagie roll

-Chicken Wrap: Wrapped in a spinach tortilla with grilled chicken, bacon, shredded cheese, lettuce, avocado spread, tomato and ranch dressing

-The Vegetarian Sandwich: Sliced tomato, mushrooms, bell pepper, lettuce, avocado spread & roasted red pepper hummus on sourdough bread

-Chicken Caesar Salad: Romaine lettuce, grilled chicken, shredded parmesan cheese, croutons & creamy caesar dressing

FEB 21 DAM RIDE UPDATE!
The ride is still on for now, thanks to Rancho Water fixing a muddy spot for us! But, since the rain is starting again, we will send a final message by 5 pm Friday, Feb 20th! So, STAY TUNED!

Ride out at 9:30 sharp. (Valle de los Caballos private staging area address will be given directly to those who RSVP. Go to rchatemecula.org to sigh both an RCHA and Rancho Water waiver, then take pictures of them and text to Laura at [email protected].

Ride is 3.5 hours, mostly flat (unless you choose to ascend the hill by the dam. Bring WATER, can be hot if weather changes.

Come join RCHA for a special ride to the back side of the Vail Lake dam!

ONE WEEK FROM TODAY!

Date: Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026

Time: Ride will depart at 9:30am SHARP.

Duration: 3.5 hours, approximately

Ride notes: This ride is to the back side of the dam, through what many people call the Wildflower Canyon. After the recent rain, we might actually see some wildflowers!
Ride is in-and-out. Mostly flat, unless you choose to ascend the hill at the midway point. Ride stages at a Rancho Water property across from Galway Downs, so be sure your horse is prepared for traffic, soccer balls and kids running, sudden noise (applause, cheering, etc.) Also, we will pass by the Temecula Valley Flyers, so be sure your horse can handle model planes. Can be hot, so bring plenty of water!

Go to http://www.rchatemecula.org to make sure your Membership is current and to sign a 2026 RCHA Waiver AND the required Rancho Water waiver. Take photo of your signed waiver and send that to Laura at [email protected]
