Temecula Sunrise Rotary was sponsored by the Rancho Temecula Rotary Club, now known at Temecula (noon) Rotary Club, and we just celebrated our 35th anniversary. This year, despite the challenges presented by the SARS-CoV 2 virus (also known as COVID-19), our club has remained active in supporting our community providing masks to at-risk populations and organizations in need, supported the Communit
y Mission Of Hope food pantry, celebrated the 27th year of hosting the Community Christmas Dinner that provided over 2,000 meals for any member of the community, provided gifts and care packages for families affected by domestic violence. In the 35 years of its existence, the club has had many programs benefiting the City of Temecula, Rotary District 5330 in Riverside and San Bernardino, and the world. The club has given out more than $250,000 in scholarships to local students, conducts a literacy program for 3rd grade students at two Title I elementary schools, sends many local 7th grade and 11th grade students to Rotary Leadership Camp (PRYDE and RYLA), sponsors the Interact service club at Chaparral High School, has sponsored many high school musicians in the Rotary District 5330 Music Competition, has entered a number of winning high school speakers in the Rotary Four Way Test speech competition, and built Rotary Park located next to the Boys and Girls Club in Old Town Temecula, with the support of the City of Temecula and the Temecula Rotary Club.
