❤️ The people behind the day.

A successful golf outing takes a lot more than golfers.

It takes the people who arrive early, stay late, keep things moving, sell 50/50 tickets, help with registration, set up tables, greet golfers, run contests, capture photos, answer questions—and jump in wherever they’re needed.

Our volunteers gave their time, energy, and enthusiasm to help make the 5th Annual MDSH Charity Golf Outing a success.

We couldn’t do it without you. Thank you for showing up for MDSH and for our athletes! 🏒

Take a look at just a few of the amazing people who helped make the day happen. 👏

🏌️ It takes a team to make an impact—and our golfers showed up!

One of the best parts of our Charity Golf Outing is seeing so many familiar faces, new friends, supporters, and MDSH fans come together for a day of fun and fundraising.

Today, we’re putting the spotlight on the foursomes who helped make our 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing such a great day.

📸 Find your foursome. Tag your teammates. Share your favorite photo.

Most importantly, thank you for spending your day with us and supporting opportunities for athletes with physical disabilities.

We’re already looking forward to seeing you back on the course next year.

Thank you, Kasi Noel for the great photos!

⛳️ Still smiling about our 5th Annual Charity Golf Outing!

We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who came out on June 29th and helped make this year’s outing such a success. From our golfers and sponsors to our donors, volunteers, and supporters—you all played a part in making a difference for athletes with physical disabilities.

Because of your support, Metro Detroit Sled Hockey can continue providing opportunities for athletes to play, compete, travel, and belong.

Thank you for being part of the MDSH community! 🏒💙

Hey, manual wheelchair users this is a great way to influence future technology for wheelchair users.

Help Advance Research That Could Improve Navigation for Manual Wheelchair Users:

Have you ever wished maps and navigation tools better reflected what it’s actually like to travel in a manual wheelchair?

Researchers from Michigan State University are conducting a research study to better understand the effort required to propel a manual wheelchair across different types of terrain. The long-term goal is to help develop improved navigation tools designed specifically for manual wheelchair users.

Testing will take place at MATRX Health & Fitness in Macomb.

What to expect:
• Manual wheelchair propulsion over different surfaces
• A short continuous propulsion trial
• Rolling over a small towel to simulate changes in terrain
• Push strength testing
• A simple bottle-moving task
• A brief questionnaire about wheelchair-related activities

⏱ Time commitment: Approximately 1.5 hours

💵 Compensation: $50

📅 Testing Date: July 21

🌎 Location: MATRX Health & Fitness clinic, 16145 Leone Drive, Macomb, Michigan

If there is enough interest, an additional testing day will be added on July 20.

If you’re interested in participating or would like more information, please email [email protected].

Please feel free to share this opportunity with friends, family members, adaptive sports organizations, or anyone who uses a manual wheelchair. Together, we can help advance research that improves accessibility for everyone.
