Eight years ago today, I filed the paperwork to bring Action Zone to life.
What I could not have imagined then were the incredible highs, the hard lessons, the moments of exhaustion, and the challenges that would test nearly everything I thought I knew about leadership, resilience, and purpose.
But through all of it, I never doubted two things:
This is exactly what I am supposed to be doing.
And every single person who walked through our doors would leave with something meaningful for their business, their life, or often both.
I am incredibly proud of what we have built over these past eight years. But more than programs, workshops, or milestones, I am proud of the veterans, military spouses, and military-connected family members who trusted us to be part of their entrepreneurial journey. Entrepreneurship requires courage, resilience, and a willingness to move forward despite uncertainty, qualities this community possesses in abundance.
You took an idea, a dream, a “what if,” and had the courage to do something with it. Watching that transformation never gets old.
And while my name may often be attached to Action Zone, this mission has never been built alone.
To our incredible team, board members, advisors, mentors, volunteers, partners, funders, and the many people who stepped in with wisdom, encouragement, introductions, support, and sometimes simply belief when we needed it most, thank you. You helped build something that matters.
Eight years down. Still building. Still believing. Still showing up for those bold enough to bet on themselves.
