Talent Food Project

Talent Food Project Talent Food Project is a simple, volunteer-operated system to keep our community fed and cared for. You want to help. We make it easy.

The original Food Project was started in Ashland in January 2009 by a small group of Ashland residents who wanted make it easy for people to donate food to the Ashland Emergency Food Bank. They realized that many of their neighbors wanted to help fight hunger in their community, but for one reason or another, never get around to it. So they created a simple, door-to-door food collection system to

enable people to pitch in. Since then, the food project grew to include Talent, Phoenix, Medford, and even as far as Bend, Portland, and other towns throughout the Northwest and beyond. Donors fill a green bag that we provide with nonperishable food every two months and put it outside their front door. We pick it up the bags and bring them to the Talent Food Bank, where more volunteers sort and shelve the food. One full green bag equals about ten meals. When we combine your bag with your neighbors’ bags, together we are able to feed the community. Sign up on our website or send us an email to become a food donor. http://talentfoodproject.com. You will be assigned a Neighborhood Coordinator who will contact you about the next pickup and get you a green bag.
