What a great way to kick off our summer Service Learning Camps!

This week, we welcomed a group fromZoar Lutheran Church in Perrysburg, and they came ready to work. From pulling harmful weeds in the horse pastures to helping in the garden, washing feed bags and water bowls, and getting our outdoor classroom ready for use, they tackled projects all across the farm.

These may seem like small tasks, but they play a huge role in helping us care for our horses and maintain the spaces where healing happens every day.

We are incredibly thankful for groups like this who choose to spend their time serving others and investing in our mission. Your hard work did not go unnoticed, and the impact of your efforts will be felt for weeks to come.

Thank you, Zoar Lutheran Church, for spending your day with us and helping make a difference at HOOVES! 🐴❤️

Their commitment, professionalism, and willingness to serve embody the very best of our nation’s spirit.

From all of us at H.O.O.V.E.S., thank you to every Coast Guard Auxiliary member—past and present—for your dedication and continued service. Your impact reaches far beyond the water and into the lives of those you protect and serve.

Happy Father’s Day to the dads, grandfathers, father figures, and men who quietly carry so much for the people they love.

At H.O.O.V.E.S., we have the privilege of meeting fathers from all walks of life—men who have served our country, men learning to heal, men rediscovering themselves, and men striving every day to be present for their families. We know that strength isn’t just found in what a man can endure, but in his willingness to love, lead, and keep showing up.

To the fathers who are making memories, the fathers who are healing from unseen wounds, the fathers who have experienced loss, and the fathers who continue to pour into others despite their own struggles—we honor you today.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and the legacy you are building. Your impact reaches far beyond what you may ever see.

From all of us at H.O.O.V.E.S., Happy Father’s Day. ❤️🐴🇺🇸

Today we want to take a moment to recognize an organization that has become a truly valued part of the H.O.O.V.E.S. family — Aspiring Hands

Every Tuesday, they bring a group of volunteers to the farm, ready to serve wherever they are needed. Whether it’s preparing the house for an upcoming Intensive, helping prepare items for events, tackling projects around the farm, or lending a hand with the countless tasks that keep things running smoothly, they show up with positive attitudes and willing hearts.

One of the greatest gifts of this partnership has been the people. We have had the opportunity to meet so many incredible individuals through Aspiring Hands. Some volunteers return week after week, while others join us for the first time, but they all have one thing in common—they never complain, never ask for recognition, and simply get to work helping wherever they can.

Most recently, Aspiring Hands also made a financial contribution to our Horses for Mental Health campaign. We were honored not only by their generosity, but by the confidence and belief they continue to place in our mission.

The work happening at H.O.O.V.E.S. would not be possible without community partners like Aspiring Hands and the amazing volunteers they bring to our farm. Your time, effort, generosity, and servant hearts make a difference in ways you may never fully see.

From all of us at H.O.O.V.E.S., thank you. We truly treasure this partnership and every single person who has stepped onto the farm through Aspiring Hands. Your impact reaches far beyond the projects you complete—you are helping create a place of healing, hope, and connection for the veterans, first responders, and families we serve every day.

The healing that happens here is only possible because of people willing to serve behind the scenes. Thank you for being some of those people.

❤️🐴 Thank you for being part of the H.O.O.V.E.S. story.

International Men’s Health Week

Not every wound is visible.

Some men are carrying stress, anxiety, PTSD, grief, depression, financial pressures, family struggles, and burdens nobody knows about. They show up to work. They coach the team. They provide for their families. They smile when they’re hurting.

This week, we want every man to know that struggling does not make you weak.

You don’t have to carry it all alone.

At HOOVES, we’ve seen firsthand what happens when men are given the space to breathe, heal, and reconnect with themselves. Healing begins when we stop pretending we’re okay and start being honest about where we are.

Check on a man in your life today. A simple conversation can change everything.
