Brunswick Search and Rescue

Brunswick Search and Rescue Brunswick Search and Rescue BSAR provides search and rescue services to the residents of Brunswick County, NC, and surrounding counties.

We specialize in providing K9 teams -- wilderness air scent, human remains detection and tracking -- for the location of missing people. We also have a 17-foot boat equipped with side-scan sonar that can be used in the recovery of drowning victims. We only respond to searches as requested by law enforcement agencies.

The Oak Island Water Rescue Team sends our deepest heart felt sympathies to the family of Shawn Barry.

We share our strength and positive energy to our brothers and sisters of the Oak Island Fire, and Police Departments, the Town of Oak Island Administrative team and all who were fortunate to know Shawn as a friend and colleague.

This is a terrible loss, and we are so fortunate to have known him as a mentor, leader, public servant and most importantly, our friend.

God speed Shawn, and thank you for being in our lives. In your spirit we all will strive to "Be Better".
