WEEK 10: FUELED UP AND READY FOR BATTLE!

We would like to extend our deepest gratitude to our friends at the Sunbury Social Club for sponsoring and preparing tonight’s team dinner! Pulled barbecue chicken, mac and cheese, fresh fruit, and lots of desserts—what a delicious way to fuel our Braves for a big night ahead!

Tomorrow is Senior Night and our final regular-season game. For our seniors, it’s a moment to celebrate years of hard work, friendships, and the pride of wearing blue, maroon and white. This team has given Braves Nation so much to cheer about, and they deserve a stadium full of support!

Come early, cheer loudly, and bring every ounce of energy you have. Let’s honor our seniors and show the Danville Ironmen that the BRAVES ARE READY FOR BATTLE!

Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell’s words about high school football, being a senior, and what it means to be a teammate hit a little harder with Senior Night tomorrow evening.

His message about underclassmen giving their all for their senior teammates is powerful. You still have more seasons ahead of you. For these seniors, their time playing high school football is coming to an end. There is no next year.

So to our underclassmen: tomorrow night, when you step onto that field, play with everything you have. Every ounce of energy. Every bit of heart. Give your greatest effort for the seniors standing beside you.

Honor them in the little things—in your preparation, your focus, your blocks, your tackles, and the way you pick one another up. Being a teammate means understanding that someone else’s last season deserves your very best.

What you have accomplished together this season is remarkable. The work, the growth, the victories, and the brotherhood belong to all of you. Your time together as this team is growing short, so treasure it. Make every snap count.

One day, you’ll be the senior hoping for one more game with your teammates. Tomorrow night, give yours a night they’ll never forget.

Are you ready for some football? A Monday night party?

Head down to the Shikellamy All-Sports Complex before 5 p.m. to cheer on our 7-0-1 Junior High Braves as they battle the Warrior Run Defenders! Stick around afterward as our JV Braves take on the Mifflinburg Wildcats!

Come hungry! The Shikellamy Cross Country & Track and Field Boosters will be serving a baked potato bar starting at 4:45 p.m. For $5, enjoy a potato with your choice of broccoli, cheese, sour cream, bacon, chili, and butter.

Make it a Monday night at the stadium—great football, good food, and a chance to support our fellow Braves!

Let’s talk about our Lady Braves! Don’t let their beauty fool you—these girls are tough!

Week after week, they’ve put in the work: lifting weights, running, perfecting motions, chants, cheers, and dance routines, and building an unbreakable bond. They do all of this while balancing school, jobs, and, for many, competitive cheer teams.

They are the glue that keeps our spirits high. They understand that future Braves cheerleaders are watching, and they embrace that responsibility with kindness, confidence, and pride. Every smile, sideline interaction, and word of encouragement helps the next generation feel like part of our Braves family.

Last night, they had the opportunity to spend time together off the field at Knoebels Hallo-Fun, making memories that will last a lifetime. After all the work they put in, they deserved a night to laugh, have fun, and just be together.

These girls pour their hearts into supporting our team and representing our school district with pride. Braves Nation, let’s show our Lady Braves some love!

Sunday Morning Season Reflections

One thing we continually remind our athletes and cheerleaders is that people are always watching—on and off the field. The way you carry yourself, treat others, and represent your school leaves an impression, sometimes on people you’ve never met.

Thursday evening, a letter about our current Braves team reminded us just how far that connection reaches. Its author, Art “Arty” Todd Thomas, is a former Brave who played on the 1981 team, a proud alumnus, a parent of a former player, and a former president of the youth football league.

When Coach Hoover read Art’s letter, he knew he would be the perfect person to speak to our players before Friday’s game. Someone who has worn the uniform, experienced the brotherhood, and still carries those memories decades later understands how special these moments are.

Now our Braves are 8-1, creating memories of their own while giving former players and longtime fans a reason to relive theirs. There is something beautiful about seeing generations connected by the same pride.

To our players and cheerleaders: keep working hard, lead with character, and take time to appreciate the people beside you. These weeks go quickly, but the friendships, lessons, and memories can stay with you for a lifetime.

Thank you, Art, for sharing your heart and reminding our boys how much this season means to the community cheering them on.
