ANNAPOLIS, MD—Governor Larry Hogan today issued an emergency order stating that, as of Monday, February 1, bars and restaurants will no longer be required to close at 10 p.m. In recent weeks, the state has distributed an additional $80 million in economic assistance to Maryland hotels and hospitality businesses, restaurants, and entertainment venues.

Subject: Continued Temporary Suspension of COMAR 03.02.01.04

Message:

The Office of the Comptroller is extending the suspension of the reporting requirements of the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) 03.02.01.04, known as Wine and Distilled Spirits Credit Control, through February 1, 2021. Previously, the suspension was in effect through October 1, 2020.

This proposal would allow the Casino to siphon business away from our local communities and local small businesses. This was not allowed when we all agreed to the original proposal. We also made clear the Casino was not to build a hotel, open shops, give-away free drinks or free food. I ask the County Commissioners to think of the impact these changes would have on our small businesses and deny the application.
