Fall is a great time to get outside and notice what’s changing around us! 🍁 🍃 🍂 🌳

Take this leaf guide on your next walk and see how many trees you and your kids can identify. Learning about the trees in our own neighborhoods is a simple way to help kids connect with nature - and that connection is often the first step toward wanting to protect it. 🌳💚 🍁 🌎 ❤️

🍂 Happy First Day of Fall! Cooler temps mean sweatshirts, jackets and pants are back — and you may discover that last year’s clothes no longer fit your child! Don’t throw away old clothing! ♻️

👚 PASS IT ON to a friend, neighbor or younger sibling.

💚 DONATE IT to the Junior League of Summit or another local organization.

♻️ RECYCLE IT — stained, torn or unwearable clothing and shoes can go in the Blue HELPSY bins at the Summit Transfer Center! Items must be clean, dry and in a plastic bag.

Reuse • Pass It On • Donate • Recycle 🌎🍁

Got sports gear your family has outgrown? 🏀⚽🥍🏒

Donate it at the Summit Community Programs to help keep usable equipment out of landfills while making youth sports more accessible for local families!

Other great local options to give sports gear a second life:

• Consign gently used equipment at Flip Consignment in New Providence.
• Bring it to the Summit Free Market (next event: Friday, June 26, 12–2 PM).
• List it on the Virtual Summit Free Market Facebook group.

Every reused item helps reduce waste and gives another child the chance to play. ♻️💚

Caffeine getting you through the end of the school year? 🪫🥱 Here’s what it looks like to bring your own mug or thermos to a local coffee shop! Give it a try!

Why bother? Americans throw away 50 billion disposable cups every year — hot and iced — and almost none can be recycled. Most cups are lined with plastic to hold liquid, which means they go straight to the landfill, no matter which bin you toss them in.

Small swap, real impact. Grab your reusable cup and go!!! ☕️ 🧊 🔋
