Halo For Animals

Halo For Animals Promoting adoption of pets in the Sullivan (MO) animal control facility (pound). Home at Last Organization. Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization since 2006.

Halo for Animals is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Sullivan, MO. Halo assists the City of Sullivan and Sullivan Police Department with the pets in their animal control facility (pound). Halo helps the city find placement for the pets not claimed by their families, helps cover medical needs not paid for by the city and promotes pet spay and neuter. Through generous donations from the community a

nd support of local businesses, the organization is able to provide adopters with a certificate to cover part of the required spay/neuter of the newly adopted pet or pay for the surgery before adoption. Donations have also been used to make improvements to the city facility and to purchase items that will make the pets more comfortable while waiting to be claimed by their families or adopted to a new family. None of this would be possible without the support of local animal lovers. Volunteers provide the network of support needed to make sure that potential adopters are aware of the pets needing homes in the local pound. Halo volunteers are able to take the pets to adoption events as well as handle adoption paperwork outside of animal control’s hours. The great partnership with the City of Sullivan is what allows Halo to make a difference in the lives of the cats and dogs that find themselves in the pound. You are adopting from the city of Sullivan, not from Halo. Halo does not take in any pets.

Tofu’s family said they are giving him lots of time to settle into his new home. He already had a chance to explore the cat tower on his own. His new name is Mailloux- after a St Louis Blues player. 💙
Thanks for adopting him from the pound!

Thanks to those who already donated kitten canned food! The city has 20 kittens in the pound!! It’s been awhile since there was that many.

We often get asked what is needed at the pound. Right now, it looks like the biggest need is canned kitten food. Items can be dropped off at the Sullivan police department for animal control or you can drop off at our regularly scheduled Wednesday evenings at the pound between 6 and 7 pm. We are often there on weekends so we can make other plans to meet up! We will also be using your donations to pick up what is needed.
Thank you all for helping the pets in the Sullivan city pound.
And if you have a cat that hasn’t been spayed or neutered yet- it’s a great time to get that done. Just ask and we can point you in the direction of some low-cost programs.

🎉Great news! Tofu is headed home. Happy adoption day!!
