Isaiah 26:1-4 God Is the Foundation of My Peace

Peace is not the absence of trouble; it is the presence of divine strength.
1. God Builds My Peace
“We have a strong city; salvation will God appoint for walls and bulwarks.”
My peace is not fragile. It is fortified by God’s salvation.

2. God Gives Me Access to Peace
“Open ye the gates…”
Peace is not locked away. God invites me into it.

3. God Keeps My Mind in Peace
“Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee.”
Perfect peace — shalom shalom — is God’s promise when my focus stays on Him.

4. God Is the Foundation of My Peace
“For in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength.”
My peace rests on a God who never weakens, never shifts, never fails.

Philippians 3:12-15 My past will not prevent my purpose

12 Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

Paul is honest: He hasn’t arrived. He isn’t perfect. He’s still growing.
But he’s pursuing the very thing Christ pursued him for.
This is humility + hunger. A refusal to be complacent.

I refuse to be complacent.

Paul is describing the life of a believer who refuses to settle, refuses to stagnate, and refuses to be defined by the past. He’s showing us what it looks like when someone is captured by Christ and is now chasing the very purpose for which Christ captured them.
