Safe to say our student leaders had an incredible time at the DC United vs. Inter Miami CF match this weekend ⚽🔥

The stadium was full of energy, the crowd was electric, and our students soaked in every moment. Experiences like this give our student leaders the chance to step outside of their daily routines, connect with one another, and enjoy moments of fun and excitement together.

We are proud to officially launch the District 8 Young Adult Jobs Program in partnership with Council Chair Edward Burroughs III — creating 275+ paid job opportunities for young adults ages 18–24 right here in Prince George’s County.

This is more than employment. It’s workforce development. It’s career exposure. It’s economic mobility.

With 100% of wages covered and comprehensive resume support, interview prep, and professional development provided through Joan’s House, we are intentionally preparing young adults not just to get hired — but to build sustainable futures.

When local government and community organizations work together, real pathways are created.

Investing in our youth isn’t just about preparing them for some distant future — it’s about honoring who they are right now.

It’s about seeing their ideas, their questions, their creativity, and their leadership as valuable in this moment. Every opportunity we create, every room we invite them into, every skill we help them build is a reminder: you matter today. ❤️

For many, it was their first time, and the energy was unmatched from start to finish. Experiences like this create space for fun, exposure, and celebration — honoring the hard work our students put in both inside and outside the classroom.

Stories like this remind us why the Jayz Agnew Camera Program matters. With nearly 1,000 homes served across District 8, we’re continuing to invest in the safety and well-being of our community — for our seniors, our families, our youth, and the next generation.

This program is about more than cameras. It’s about care, prevention, and showing up for one another. And we’re not done yet.
