My grandmother couldn't read.
But every morning she made sure I was on that road 10 miles each way. No complaints. No excuses. Just a quiet belief that education was the one thing life couldn't take from us.
She was right.
I came to America. I studied. Doors opened. But I never stopped asking myself how do I take what I'm learning and bring it back home?
That's why I started the Ray Foundation. And why for the past two years we've been building a school in rural Sierra Leone for children who today still walk miles just to sit in a classroom.
The walls are up. The roof is on. Kids are already showing up before we've even finished.
We just need to cross the finish line.
I started a GoFundMe and every donation, every share gets us one step closer to opening those doors.
