Our Community Table - FL - Martin County

Our Community Table - FL - Martin County Ministry in Martin County - Helping others in our community by providing meals to those in need Lucie Counties. Lucie County in September 2025.

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about what Our Community Table is doing in our local community and beyond. Our Community Table is a faith-based ministry uniting churches and the community to serve those in need. What began on April 10, 2020, has grown into a well-recognized ministry focused on helping local families facing food insecurity. We believe that no one should ever have to go

without a meal — not on a Saturday, nor any other day of the week. Through the dedication of our volunteers and partners, Our Community Table now serves more than 2,100 hot meals every Saturday in Martin County and has provided over 425,000 meals to date. As the need continues to grow, God has opened new doors for expansion. We are now serving families in Okeechobee County, where we provide over 600 meals weekly, and have recently launched efforts in St. Lucie County, where meals are already being distributed to those in need. To deepen our impact, we launched the End Hunger Campaign, an initiative designed to raise awareness about the hidden reality of food poverty in our region and inspire action among local residents, churches, and businesses. Our goal is simple yet profound — to End Hunger, beginning right here at home in Martin, Okeechobee, and St. Ministry Vision:

Our vision is to expand the ministry to ensure that no one ever has to go without a meal. We have grown to 12 active stations throughout Martin County — serving the communities of Stuart, Hobe Sound, and Indiantown — where we feed both the body and soul of those in need. God continues to open doors for expansion beyond Martin County. We launched our first station in Okeechobee County in June 2025 and expanded into St. Internationally, we are celebrating our fourth year of ministry in Colombia, South America, where we work closely with our missionary partners to serve families in need. It’s exciting to see how the Lord is working through the hands and hearts of so many faithful volunteers and supporters. Our goal — our vision — is clear: to End Hunger, beginning with Martin County! Future Expansion Plans

Establish our own facility to serve as a permanent home base for ministry operations

Provide clothing through Our Community Closet

Launch and operate a Mobile Food Pantry to reach those without transportation

Purchase vans for efficient food transport between stations

Continue to build and equip our Disaster Relief Team

Offer assistance and resources for unforeseen community relief needs

Create meeting spaces and counseling rooms for individuals and families

Facilitate small group Bible studies to help people grow in their faith and deepen their understanding of God’s Word

Host catering and community events to raise awareness and support

Collaborate with other nonprofits to strengthen community impact and extend resources to those in need

Ministry Growth:

What began with just 124 meals on our very first Saturday has now grown into a thriving ministry serving over 1,900 meals every week. Our team is expanding right alongside our outreach — with more than 600 active volunteers faithfully helping to prepare, package, and deliver meals each weekend. Our volunteers come from all walks of life — from those with physical or mental challenges who serve with joy, to families teaching their young children the importance of compassion and giving back to others. Together, we are living out our mission to serve God by serving others. Ministry Food Costs:

As Our Community Table continues to grow, so do our expenses. The rise in food prices, combined with the addition of new distribution stations and county expansions, has increased our weekly costs. Currently, our combined average food cost ranges between $3,600 and $4,000 per weekend, depending on the menu. We are also navigating ongoing supply challenges and food item shortages, which adds to the difficulty of meeting the growing demand. Even with these challenges, our commitment remains the same — to ensure no one goes without a meal. Ministry Needs:

There are three main ways you can partner with Our Community Table, all centered around Raising Awareness. Raising Awareness for Financial Support
Donations directly support weekly food costs and supply purchases. Every dollar given goes toward operating the ministry — with no salaries or administrative overhead. Raising Awareness for Volunteers
People are the heartbeat of this ministry. We depend on volunteers to sustain, grow, and expand our reach each week. Raising Awareness of Community Need
We need your help to identify individuals and families who are struggling with food insecurity so that we can serve where the need is greatest. The need is great — but so is the heart of this community. Our volunteers, partners, and supporters feel called to do their part in helping those less fortunate. While we continue to grow and expand, our yearly costs will increase, and we humbly ask for your continued prayers, partnership, and financial support. Thank you for your heart and your passion to serve those in need across our local communities. To learn more about Our Community Table, please contact:

"When most people think of hunger, they picture big cities or communities facing obvious hardship."

"But the truth is hunger exists everywhere."

"It exists in rural towns."

"It exists in suburban neighborhoods."

"It exists behind closed doors where families are forced to choose between groceries, rent, and utilities."

"That's why we are excited to be meeting with Jason Garrett and the Starfish Foundation in Princeton, New Jersey."

"Their Fight Hunger Initiative and Our Community Table share a common belief — that communities can come together and make a difference in the lives of people who need help."

"This isn't about one organization."

"This isn't about one event."

"This is about bringing people together to create awareness, inspire action, and remind people that no one should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from."

"As we head north, we're praying that this partnership will open doors, build relationships, and help expand the fight against hunger into new communities."

"Because ending hunger starts when ordinary people decide to do something extraordinary."

"We have some exciting news to share."

"What if one day could change the lives of hundreds of families?"

"Next week, Our Community Table is heading to Princeton, New Jersey, where we will be partnering with the former head coach of the Dallas Cowboys Jason Garrett and the Starfish Foundation in a shared mission to fight hunger."

"Together, volunteers will prepare approximately 1,100 hot meals that will be distributed across three communities in Mercer County."

"For us, this is about more than food."

"It's about bringing hope."

"It's about building relationships."

"It's about showing people that they are seen, valued, and loved."

"Over the past six years, Our Community Table has served more than 450,000 meals throughout Florida, and now we have the opportunity to take what we've learned and share it with others who want to make a difference in their own communities."

"We believe that hunger doesn't recognize city limits, county lines, or state borders."

"Whether it's Florida or New Jersey, there are families struggling, seniors making difficult choices, and children who need to know someone cares."

"Please keep this outreach in your prayers as volunteers come together to prepare and distribute 1,100 meals across three cities."

"Because ending hunger starts when a community decides to take action."

"Together, we can make a difference."

Take two! 🎬😂

Last week I jumped the gun and celebrated OCT Sunday a week early. Apparently, calendars matter.

So THIS Sunday is officially OCT Sunday! Wear your OCT shirt to church and help us share the mission of serving our community with love, dignity, and hope.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing through OCT. 💜

Special shoutout to those who wore their OCT shirts last Sunday because of my post. Your early participation is appreciated, and your obedience to faulty instructions has been duly noted. 😂

What If It Was You?

What if you were working full-time and still struggling to put food on the table?

What if your children depended on you, but every month seemed harder than the last?

Bills piling up.
Groceries costing more.
Rent increasing.
Gas prices rising.

What many people don't see are the families quietly struggling right here in our own community.

Food insecurity isn't happening somewhere else.

It's happening right here in Martin County.

Watch this video and help us raise awareness for the thousands of families facing these challenges every day.

Together, we can make a difference.
Together, we can bring hope.
Together, we can help end hunger.
