House of Hope

House of Hope Empowering our community to overcome hunger and hardship. Each person’s frequency and level of service is determined case by case.

House of Hope has been providing basic human needs for struggling people in Martin County, Florida, since 1984. A nonprofit community service agency, House of Hope provides its core service programs at each of its four locations: Stuart, Hobe Sound, Indiantown, and Jensen Beach. House of Hope Programs

House of Hope nests all its services within Project HOPE (Helping Others Progress through Empowe

rment), ensuring that all people seeking help receive some level of case management. This helps examine the root causes of their needs and opens a dialogue about further assistance channels. Collectively, the services provided through Project HOPE are designed to empower people in need and afford them the greatest opportunity for health, financial stability, and life success. About 8,000 people each month are touched by one or more House of Hope services within Project HOPE:

Food Pantry: Includes dry goods as well as fresh and frozen produce and meat. In 2024, the agency provided people with over 1.16 million pounds of food to clients and partners. Of that, 627,222 pounds were provided through our four client-choice pantries, while another 627,222 pounds were distributed to our 30 food bank partners across Martin, St. Lucie, and Okeechobee Counties. Impressively, over 500,000 pounds of our total distribution consisted of fresh produce. Additionally, our Nutrition Center prepared 27,320 meals, salads, and sandwiches for clients and food partners, ensuring access to nourishing and ready-to-eat options. Clothes Closet: Includes clothing, small household necessities, furniture, and appliances. Each year, House of Hope provides about 180,000 such items to families, individuals, and agencies serving veterans, children, and the homeless population. Financial Assistance: Includes help with rent/mortgage, utilities, prescriptions, medical co-pays, and gift cards for gasoline or holiday meals. Special funds at House of Hope include assistance for veterans and single mothers. Information and Referral: Staff members, expert volunteers, and interns at House of Hope connect thousands of people each year to vital resources available throughout the community. This may include helping people with applications for Medicaid, SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program), Florida KidCare and other forms of assistance. Case Management: Professional social workers offer longer-term assistance and guidance to help people bring greater stability to their lives through planning, budgeting, training and outreach to community partners.

This week's shoutout goes to our neighbors at Macy's of the Treasure Coast Mall. We are truly better together as a community, and we want to thank Macy's employees for helping us in the Nutrition Center packing meals that we'll freeze for our families to have easy meals!
