Celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month at Sterling! 😍

Mr. Jeremy led our preschoolers in a special Hispanic Heritage Month activity as part of the S.T.A.R. Program’s challenge!

The group read Pepe and the Parade by Tracey Kyle, illustrated by Mirelle Ortega, and discussed what Hispanic Heritage Month is all about, influential Hispanic figures, and the cultures and traditions celebrated throughout the month. The preschoolers also got creative by coloring their own Hispanic Heritage Month crowns! 👑

Through stories, conversation, and hands-on activities, our little learners are exploring different cultures and building an appreciation for the diverse communities that make our world special.

Thank you to the S.T.A.R. Program for bringing this enrichment opportunity to our classrooms! 💚🧡🩷💙

🦃 Help us make Thanksgiving special for Sterling families!

Last year, our community provided Thanksgiving dinners to 400+ families! Let’s make this year’s Thanksgiving just as special! 🧡

We’re collecting donations now through November 17. Check out the graphic for the full list of requested items and help us fill the gap this Thanksgiving.

Please note that frozen turkeys and/or hams may be dropped off beginning November 19 to help us avoid storage limitations.

For more information or to coordinate a pickup, please contact LeAnne Reynolds at [email protected].

Little bots. Big ideas. 🐝💡

Our afterschool students in grades 4–6 got hands-on with STEM during a recent half day, exploring how Bee-Bots work and creating their own courses filled with turns and obstacles! 🤖

Through Sterling’s growing Maker Space, students have opportunities to experiment, think creatively, and build problem-solving skills through hands-on learning. Having extra time to explore made this activity even more special!

A huge thank you to Comcast /Xfinity for helping make these opportunities possible through their grant support. We’re excited to keep creating new ways for our afterschool students to learn, discover, and bring their ideas to life! 💚🧡🩷💙
