Junior League of San Joaquin County is an organization of women who are dedicated to making a difference in the communities in which they live.

Junior League of San Joaquin County was originally founded in 1927 as Junior Auxiliary. In 1928 Junior Auxiliary changed its name to Junior Aid of Stockton. In 2005 Junior Aid began the affiliation process with the Association of Junior Leagues International (AJLI) which includes over 294 Junior Leagues, located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Great Britain. The Association has a collective membership of more than 170,000 women. Affiliation with AJLI was completed in April of 2009 and Junior Aid of Stockton became Junior League of San Joaquin County.

❤️ A Morning of Service, History & Hope!

Today, members of the Junior League of San Joaquin County had the wonderful opportunity to tour the Children's Home of Stockton, an extraordinary organization that has been changing young lives in our community for more than 140 years!

Founded in 1882 by a group of compassionate women known as the Ladies Aid Society of Stockton, the Children’s Home began as an orphanage providing shelter and care for vulnerable children. In 1912, its beautiful historic building opened its doors, and today, that legacy of compassion continues through programs that provide safety, stability, healing, and hope.

We learned about the incredible work CHS does for youth facing trauma, foster care challenges, and homelessness. Through residential therapeutic care, mental health services, education, and life skills development, CHS helps young people build brighter, more independent futures.

One particularly inspiring program is Catalyst, which opened in 2021 and provides transitional housing and support for young adults ages 18–24 experiencing homelessness. Beyond providing a safe place to live, Catalyst helps young people develop life skills, pursue employment, and work toward permanent housing and self-sufficiency. Hearing the stories of lives transformed through this program was especially moving. ❤️

Our visit was a wonderful reminder of why we serve. The Junior League’s mission is to advance women’s leadership for meaningful community impact through volunteer action, collaboration, and training. How fitting that an organization founded by women who saw a need in their community continues to inspire women serving that same community today!

We are grateful for the opportunity to learn more about this remarkable organization and for the dedicated staff who pour their hearts into giving young people hope and a brighter future.

❤️ A NEW LEAGUE YEAR BEGINS! ❤️

Last night, the Junior League of San Joaquin County gathered for our first General Membership Meeting of the year—and the room was filled with energy, connection and excitement for all that lies ahead!

We discussed our plans for the coming year and welcomed Cold Cap Cuties, one of the many local organizations our League is proud to support. Cold Cap Cuties helps women undergoing chemotherapy preserve their hair through cold-cap therapy, providing hope and confidence during an incredibly difficult season.

We were also delighted to welcome two new members to our League! ❤️

This is what happens when women come together with a shared commitment to serve: connections grow, ideas take shape and meaningful change begins. We’re excited for another year of developing women leaders and making a lasting difference throughout San Joaquin County!

Such a wonderfully successful event with ~250 guests at our Junior League of SJC womens group fundraiser, “ Boots & Bubbly”!! So, so thankful for all of the sponsors and wonderful JLSJC hard working women volunteers. We raised a lot of money to help empower women in leadership, inspire volunteerism, and expand opportunities for our underserved communities throughout our region. Junior League of San Joaquin County had a beautiful evening gathering at House of Shaw for our April general membership meeting—grateful for a night filled with connection, purpose, and a shared passion for serving our community. ✨

As we look ahead, we’re especially excited to be preparing for a milestone year—our 100th anniversary! 🎉 It’s an incredible time to be part of Junior League as we plan meaningful ways to celebrate our legacy and continue making an impact in San Joaquin County.

We’re also gearing up for Boots & Bubbly—our signature fundraiser—and can’t wait to bring the community together for a night that supports the work we care so deeply about. 🥂

If you’ve ever thought about getting involved, we’d love to invite you to join us. Junior League is a place to grow, lead, build lasting friendships, and truly make a difference right here in San Joaquin County.

Junior League of San Joaquin County was recognized by Stockton Unified School District as exceptional volunteers at their award ceremony at Stockton Golf and Country Club, Friday, April 24, 2026. It was a lovely evening surrounded by amazing dedicated educators and volunteers. Thank you Taylor Leadership Academy for your nomination and for the award! The members of Junior League of SJC witnessed the joy that your young students exuded when they picked out clothes from the clothes closet, and received gifts they otherwise would not have enjoyed during the holidays. Our favorite gift request was the “orange soda.” We also see how the much needed supplies and equipment for the Autistic SPED classes have energized the teachers and students. We are proud to partner with Taylor Leadership Academy.
