As rush season is around the corner, we asked one of our newer brothers, Markus Alcantar, who serves as our current recruitment chair why he chose pike, he responded with:

“I used to be against the whole idea of joining a fraternity, I was fully convinced that i’d hate it. I felt like it wasn’t worth it or represented who I am as a person. I can proudly say that I misunderstood what it meant to be a part of a fraternity. Now I know that it’s to become part of something way bigger than me. PIKE isn’t your ordinary brotherhood. We share a proud power of resilience and high levels of trust and stick to our four columns no matter what. To be a scholar, doing our best to hold ourselves accountable in the classroom. To be leaders, leading by example everyday and not just to eachother, but for the public as well. To be athletes, we share that competitive spirit and carry expectations to keep winning, not just in sports, but in life too. And lastly, to be a gentleman, many people already prove they’re gentlemen, but pike helped me truly understand and apply those actions, not just to people I care about but in school, workplaces and publicly. I’ve learned so much more just throughout my first year being a PIKE and there is so much more to learn. For all the people who are skeptic of joining a fraternity like I was. All I can say now is to give it a chance. There’s way more to it than you think. The brothers really helped me find my place on campus. Now I always have support on my lowest and highest moments. PIKE helped me become a better man and now I can wait to be part of that process for new members. I am grateful for the people who I can call my brothers for life. This is why I chose PIKE.”

As usual, RUSH THE BEST, RUSH PIKE

Over the summer, our brothers have been putting in the work, gaining hands-on experience, developing professionally, and making an impact through internships across a variety of industries. We’re proud to see them represent PIKE both on and off campus. Here’s to continued growth, leadership, and success.

Recently, the Kappa Nu Chapter was proud to represent PIKE at its 75th International Convention. We sent our President, Rafael Montez, Internal Vice President, Cesar Castillo, and Recruitment Chair, Markus Alcantar, to take part in this incredible opportunity. The Kappa Nu Chapter was honored to be named a top 3 finalist in the Newell award, while our President, Rafael Montez, served as one of the convention’s voting delegates. We are grateful for the opportunity to represent Kappa Nu on the international stage and look forward to applying what we learned as we continue to grow, and uphold the values of PIKE.

With rush season coming up, we asked one of our brothers, Fabian Colin on why he chose pike. He responded with

“PIKE is an environment that reminded me of home. Getting to know the brothers and their background allowed me to get a sense of their own journey. Knowing I share the same struggles and experiences with a few brothers made it easier to fit in. Alongside that, many connections through PIKE also gave me another way to expand with potential careers in the future”

Rush the best, Rush PIKE

Behind every brother in pike, is a father who helped him get here. Today we celebrate the men who showed us to work hard, be resilient and stand for something far greater than ourselves. Happy father’s day to all the fathers, father figures and role models who continue to inspire us everyday.

Brotherhood begins with tradition.

This past weekend, the brothers of Pi Kappa Alpha – Kappa Nu came together for our 8th Annual Alumni Golf Tournament, a tradition that continues to showcase what makes our chapter so special.

From alumni who graduated over two decades ago to our newest active members, the bonds of Pike were evident throughout the entire day.

What stood out most was seeing brothers from different eras reconnect as if no time had passed. Whether they wore the letters in the early 2000s or are wearing them today, the shared values of friendship, loyalty, and brotherhood continue to unite us. The conversations, stories, mentorship, and laughter throughout the tournament served as a reminder that Pike is more than four years, it is a lifelong commitment.

As we celebrate our chapter’s 30th year, events like these remind us that our strength comes from the generations of brothers who came before us and continue to invest in those who follow.

A special thank you goes to our dedicated alumni whose vision, leadership, and commitment have made this tournament possible for eight consecutive years. Your continued support helps preserve the traditions that keep our brotherhood thriving.

Once a Pike, always a Pike. Here’s to eight years of tradition and many more to come.

After honoring our senior graduates, we also want to shout out one of our alumni, Anthony Domonique Rodriguez. Brother Anthony who was a class of 2012 BA, class of 2015 M.Ed, and now getting his Ed.D in Transformative Action in Education in 2026. We asked him to reflect on his time in pike and he said

“I joined Pike as a transfer student in the fall of 2009. Moving to Stockton alone from a small town, I found a place that felt like home at Pike. The values that the fraternity embodied not only matched my own, but they were foundations that I was raised on as well. I became empowered as I found a place that I was affirmed and supported with my goals to be successful at Pacific.

My brothers motivated me, cheered me on and pushed me forward. To this day I still talk to a few of them daily and nothing has changed.

Pike taught me so much. To this day I still carry all of the values with me and strive to be an exemplary scholar, leader, occasional ATHLETE and gentleman in my community. Representing everything we as men of Pike said we would be as we carried our fraternity into the future”

To our graduating seniors, thank you. For years you men have been the foundation of this chapter. You guys have carried the responsibility of preserving and strengthening this brotherhood for the pikes that follow you. PIKE is stronger because of the legacy you men are leaving behind. We are proud to call you our brothers, and we know the impact you made here will never be forgotten.

Remember, once a Pike, always a Pike.
