Our volunteers at the Gerry Dunlap Rose Garden in Victory Park are proving that a little beauty can go a long way for our community’s mental health and civic pride. From peaceful gathering spaces to the simple joy of seeing roses like All My Loving in true pink, Cinco De Mayo with its rich bronze tones, and the deep red Firefighter rose in bloom, the garden continues to bring color and connection to Stockton. Thank you to our partners at the Stockton Garden Club for all the dedication and care that keeps these gardens thriving. Be sure to stop and smell the roses throughout Stockton, including the Gerry Dunlap Rose Garden at the Haggin Museum, University Park World Peace Rose Garden, Faye Fotini Spanos Rose Garden at St. Basil Church, and Knoles Lawn at UOP.

Stockton Beautiful is excited to see continued momentum behind the restoration of Mormon Slough, a vision our organization helped promote years ago under the leadership of former Board President David Murray. This important community driven project focuses on restoring natural habitat, improving neighborhood health, creating safer and more resilient spaces, and reconnecting the community to the waterway. We encourage the public to attend the upcoming Design Visioning Meeting on Saturday, May 16, from 10 AM to 2 PM at to share ideas and help shape the future of Mormon Slough. Community input will play an important role in guiding the restoration and revitalization efforts moving forward.

Honored that University of the Pacific was part of the inaugural Stockton Rose Garden Tour. Here, Lodi artist and retired Pacific art professor Lucinda Kasser captures the idyllic scene on historic Knoles Lawn. The tour, sponsored by Herlife Magazine Central Valley, Sass! Public Relations, Inc., Stockton Beautiful and the Haggin Museum also included stops at the Faye Spanos Rose Garden at Saint Basil Greek Orthodox Church Stockton, the private garden of Jane and Jerry Butterfield, University Park and the Haggin gardens.

The Stockton Rose Garden Tours yesterday were fabulous! So many beautiful gardens to see and enjoy. Our thanks to all of the sponsors, everything was perfect as a result of your generosity and support of our event made this event special. A huge shout out to Carrie Mae Sass for inspiring all of us and handling so many details to a tee. The Stockton Garden Club was working overtime to create beautiful bouquets for all the venues and keep things running smoothly. And of course to all our Stockton Beautiful volunteers THANK YOU for your time and efforts to make this such a successful event for everyone. 🌹💐👒

What a beautiful Earth Day yesterday in Victory Park. The theme this year was "Our Power, Our Planet. This was the 37th anniversary for this celebration, with over 100 particpants, including Stockton Beautiful. We talked with a lot of people our involvement in the local community, and upcoming projects. Please think about joining us as we continue to make environmental, and sustainable improvements in our community.
