~Meet (Some of) Your Local Pollinators~

Pollinators are all around us โ€” and many of them are working quietly behind the scenes. ๐Ÿ๐ŸŒธ

When we think of pollinators, honey bees often come to mind, but Oregon is home to hundreds of native bee species, along with butterflies, moths, beetles, hummingbirds, and other important pollinators.

These species support biodiversity by helping plants reproduce, strengthening native plant communities, and contributing to healthy habitats across our region.

At Marion SWCD, we work with landowners, communities, and partners to support conservation practices that improve habitat, protect natural resources, and create healthier landscapes โ€” for people, plants, wildlife, and pollinators.

This Pollinator Week, take a moment to notice the pollinators in your own backyard, neighborhood, or local greenspace. ๐ŸŒฟ

What pollinators have you spotted recently?

Salmon Watch is looking for volunteers this fall!

Join Marion SWCD as a volunteer educator and help students explore salmon biology, water quality, macroinvertebrates, and riparian ecosystems through hands-on outdoor learning.

Returning Salmon Watch volunteer? Come refresh your skills and reconnect before the season begins.

๐ŸŸ **Field trips: September 14โ€“October 2**

Our volunteer training day is a great opportunity for new and returning volunteers to get familiar with Salmon Watch, explore the teaching stations, and connect with other volunteers before students arrive.

No teaching experience required โ€” just a willingness to learn and share with students.

A free background check is required for all volunteers working with students.
