🐺🍼 Wishlist Wednesday 🍼🐺
If our 2026 wolf puppies could make their own wishlist, we're pretty sure this would be at the top... 💙
🥩 Steve's Real Food

As our puppies continue to grow, explore, and keep our animal care team on their toes, high-quality nutrition is incredibly important. Steve's Real Food has quickly become a favorite around mealtime—and judging by the excitement it gets, we'd say it's puppy-approved! 🐺😋
This raw diet helps provide the nutrients our growing pups need as they develop into healthy, thriving adults. Between all the playing, exploring, and learning how to be wolves, these little ones work up quite an appetite!

Want to help support the newest members of the WSC family? Consider donating Steve's Real Food and help keep our growing pups happy, healthy, and well-fed. 💙
‼️Please no chicken flavor‼️

Every donation makes a direct impact on the care of our animals, and we couldn't do it without the support of our amazing community.
🐾 Thank you for helping us give these future pack members the best start possible!

Tomorrow is not guaranteed to any of us. The Wildlife Science Center lost three very very important humans this spring, and I can no longer put off our farewells. I will be creating three posts for three beautiful humans.
Samantha (Sam) Troff joined us as an intern on her journey while pursuing her degree online in fisheries and wildlife from Oregon State University. Her work ethic was a rare thing indeed....40+ hours as an intern/week, 15-20 hours/week as a farmhand, and the rest of her waking hours in the classroom. As her time with us progressed, she discovered how deeply her passion for birds ran and she became very involved in our Raptor program at WSC. When she completed her internship, we offered her a job on our animal care staff team. One of the most endearing features that Sam brought was her level of commitment to WSC animals. They weren't "someone else's", they were Sam's wolves, birds, raccoons and foxes. When a staff member feels that way about the animals, the care is just that much better.
As Sam's career progressed, she narrowed her focus on birds and eventually moved onto fulfill her dream through work at the Raptor Center on the University campus and the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
If you knew Sam, you knew Shelby, her soul mate and life partner. Shelby was her biggest fan and was by her side throughout her journey. Shelby was also in her arms when their young lives were cut short in a motorcycle accident last week. I don't understand how such beauty can just disappear in a breath. I do know that in Sam's short life, she spread her passion for wild places and wild things like a fire and WSC is forever grateful to have been one of her stopping places on her journey.
If you would like to honor Sam and Shelby, their family is hosting a celebration of life Friday June 19th 2026 from 4:00pm-9:00 pm at Irving & John Anderson County Park 27201 Furman Street NE North Branch, MN
Fly free, bird woman! Until we meet again...

🌱🐺 Wishlist Wednesday 🐺🌱
Not all grass seed is created equal... especially when you have wolves. 😅

Between zoomies, wrestling matches, and daily wolf shenanigans, our enclosures can be pretty tough on grass. That's why one of our favorite supplies is what we lovingly call "wolf-resistant" grass seed!

Every year we work hard to maintain healthy, safe, and natural-looking habitats for our animals, and grass seed plays a big role in keeping our enclosures looking their best. 🌿💚

We're currently looking for donations of our preferred grass seed, which can be purchased locally at Spike's & Houles in Forest Lake.
Your support helps us continue improving our animal habitats while giving our wolves plenty of space to run, play, explore, and occasionally redecorate. 🐺😂
