Just two more hours until the doors open for our Back to OLD School Bookfair (For ADULTS).

That’s only:

✨ one emotionally devastating romance

✨ approximately 37 times saying “I’m not buying any more books today”
✨ or one very long argument with yourself about whether bringing two tote bags is excessive.

Spoiler: it is not!

Come relive the glory days of book fair shopping—except now you have adult money, questionable financial judgment, and access to b**r.

📚🍺 THE BOOK FAIR IS BACK…but we’re adults now, so there’s b**r.

Remember the absolute POWER of walking into a school book fair with $20 and zero financial responsibility?

Yeah. We’re bringing that energy back. Basically, it’s like Scholastic Book Fair day except nobody can tell you that you’ve already spent your allowance and you’re allowed to order a b**r.

Join us for the BACK TO OLD SCHOOL 90’s BOOK FAIR FOR ADULTS at Rockwell B**r Co. this Saturday, August 15th from 12–4 PM! 📼✨

Bring your friends. Bring your tote bag. Bring whatever shred of self-control you have left around books.

See you Saturday, STL! 📚🍻

👻 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Pooja Arshanapally

For anyone whose childhood reading habits were shaped by Goosebumps, this one feels especially appropriate.

Pooja Arshanapally is a poet and author whose work explores love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and everything haunting in between. Her own love of spooky stories goes all the way back to childhood, when she devoured collections of Goosebumps stories—and that nostalgia still finds its way into her work today.

Come meet Pooja and check out The Spirits in the Attic and The Haunted Wardrobe at the Back to OLD School 90’s Book Fair!

✍️ AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: M.M. Bylo

M.M. Bylo has been writing since she was around ten years old, so at this point storytelling has basically become a permanent personality trait.

A Midwest writer of poetry and contemporary/literary fiction, M.M. has written everything from poetry and short stories to novellas, even minoring in creative writing in college. At the heart of her work is a desire to use storytelling and her own experiences to encourage others and share her faith.

Meet M.M., browse works like Not of This and University, and talk all things writing at the Back to OLD School 90’s Book Fair!

🌸 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Yaya Starchild

Because no 90's bookfair would be complete without the whimsy...

A q***r artist from St. Louis, Yaya first picked up a pen for solace at just eight years old. What started with childhood short stories eventually grew into poetry—the form that became her most treasured way of expressing herself. And now we get to have our own little whimsical fairy at OUR book fair!

Come meet Yaya, discover Suncatcher Spirit, and experience her work at the Back to OLD School 90’s Book Fair!

📼🔪 SPOTLIGHT: Terrorcore Publishing

Remember walking through the horror section of a video store and staring at covers you were absolutely not old enough to be looking at?

Terrorcore Publishing remembers too.

Terrorcore specializes in retro and nostalgia-driven horror, resurrecting the spirit of vintage horror paperbacks from the 1980s. Their mission is to bring readers the kind of wonderfully creepy books that feel like they were pulled straight off an old rental-store shelf—including new novelizations inspired by 70’s and 80’s horror films that never got books the first time around.

Come meet Terrorcore Publishing at the Back to OLD School 90’s Book Fair!

Basically: if your childhood involved VHS tapes, paperback horror, and covers that gave you nightmares, you need to stop at this table.

🔮 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Kara Badalamenti

Witches, romance, naughty cats, museums, gardens…

Kara Badalamenti has essentially assembled the ideal author starter pack.

Kara is a St. Louis author of romantasy and contemporary romance, including Cursed Coven, the first book in the Cursed Coven series. When she isn’t reading or writing, you’ll probably find her listening to music, wandering through a museum or art gallery, tending to her garden, or being supervised by her two cats.

Come meet Kara and enter the Cursed Coven at our Back to OLD School 90’s Book Fair!

🚀 AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: Jeremy S. Pratte

Web developer. Sci-fi author. Digital artist. Hockey cartoonist. Meme poster.

Oh—and referee to four rambunctious sons, which may actually be the most impressive credential on the list.
Jeremy S. Pratte is a St. Louis-area creative who seems physically incapable of sticking to just one medium. When he isn’t coding or keeping the peace at home, he’s usually working on his next sci-fi story, piece of digital art, or addition to the world of FIVE.
