🚧 Jefferson Construction Update 🚧

We just left a meeting with city officials, the construction team, and paving contractors regarding the current and future phases of the Jefferson reconstruction project.

We shared feedback from residents, customers, and business owners regarding lane closures, traffic flow, access, and visibility. The team heard those concerns, and additional signage has been requested to help make navigation clearer.

At the same time, we recognize that some traffic changes and lane closures are necessary to safely complete the project and keep progress moving forward. The goal is to balance access to our businesses while allowing the work to be completed as efficiently and safely as possible.

The biggest update:

✅ 10 Mile is OPEN
✅ You can now turn LEFT (northbound) or RIGHT (southbound) onto Jefferson from 10 Mile

At this time, Jefferson remains southbound-only from 11 Mile to Lakeland (excluding local traffic). Northbound remains open.

Northbound on Jefferson is still open from 9 Mile

And northbound and southbound on Jefferson from 10 Mile to 9 Mile.

The current plan is that 10 Mile will remain open and is not expected to be shut down again in the foreseeable future.

Jefferson Yacht Club 's s 68th Blessing of the Fleet was held this morning at Watermark Bar and Grille . It was a lovely occasion. This tradition marks the beginning of the boating season as we remember dear ones lost in the past year and pray for the safety of our boating community for the coming months. Mayor Kip Walby encouraged support of our Nautical Mile businesses during the Jefferson Sewer Project construction during his remarks.

🚧 TRAFFIC UPDATE FOR THE NAUTICAL MILE 🚧

Beginning May 26th, southbound Jefferson is closed from Lakeland to Fresard due to ongoing construction.

We know the signage and detours can feel confusing, so we wanted to help keep everyone in the know and make it easier to continue supporting local businesses along The Nautical Mile. 💙

The businesses located on the northwest side of 10 Mile & Jefferson including Pat Pat O'Brien's, New Order Coffee, Baffin Brewing Company, DOX, and Pegasus Taverna - St. Clair Shores and Lakeside Fishing Shop
ARE STILL ACCESSIBLE.

If you see “LOCAL TRAFFIC ONLY,” that includes customers visiting these businesses.

Please reference the graphics/maps in this post before heading out, and continue to check directly with individual businesses for their own hours, access points, specials, events, and updates during construction.
