There’s movement in the fight against trafficking across WA and ID. 🙌

✓ WASHINGTON: Important changes are strengthening protections and accountability for trafficking and exploitation.

✓ IDAHO: HB 518 strengthens the Attorney General’s ability to combat human trafficking through training, reporting, staffing, and greater support for investigations and prosecutions.

BUT THERE’S MORE WORK AHEAD.👈

A Washington proposal that would have made purchasing commercial s*x a felony on the first offense was changed. Under the substitute bill, the first two convictions are gross misdemeanors, with a third becoming a Class C felony.

❓Why does this matter?

Demand fuels exploitation. Accountability matters. And survivors deserve policies that recognize the harm caused by commercial s*xual exploitation.
