UPDATE: The vision is becoming reality.

What was once a strip club will soon become the Helping Captives Freedom Center, a place dedicated to helping women escape s*x trafficking and move from captivity to freedom.

The good news is the building is now PAID OFF, fully demoed, and the permits are approved! 🙌

These renderings show the vision for what is coming next. We are now raising the funds needed to begin construction and bring the Freedom Center to life.

Thank you to everyone who has prayed, given, volunteered, and believed in this vision. We are one step closer to turning a place once associated with exploitation into a place of freedom and restoration for generations to come.

From captivity to freedom. 🔥

Kaleesi M. Patterson, 12, Spokane Valley, Washington
Thirty-two days ago, federal agents and the FBI's Child Exploitation Task Force arrested a convicted child pornographer two miles from the street where Kaleesi was last seen — and now a 12-year-old girl's phone has gone dark in the same county. This Fourth of July weekend, if you're traveling through the Spokane Valley area, we need your eyes up — at rest stops, fast food restaurants, gas stations, anywhere people pass through.

Kaleesi M. Patterson

**Classified as a Missing Endangered Juvenile by Spokane County Sheriff's Office**

White female, 5'4", 135 lbs, multi-shades of brown hair
Last seen wearing a black sweatshirt and brown pants
Last known location: 16400 block of East Sprague Avenue, Spokane Valley

She didn't come home from being outside on July 1st. By July 3rd, her phone stopped being answered entirely.

🔴 DANGER LEVEL: 8/10 — CRITICAL
🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥🟥⬜⬜
On June 2, 2026 — 32 days before Kaleesi went missing — the US Marshals Service and FBI Child Exploitation/Human Trafficking Task Force arrested a convicted child pornographer at a residence less than two miles from where she was last seen. Operation Liberty Lake, a multi-agency child exploitation sting in this same Spokane County corridor, produced 13 arrests in October 2025. The FBI maintains a permanent Child Exploitation Task Force in Spokane because the regional volume demands it. A 12-year-old girl with a dark phone in this county is not a situation with time to spare.

If you have any information on where Kaleesi is, that call matters more than anything else you do today. Every MCA Search Team Member who shares this puts her face in front of someone law enforcement can't reach alone.

We trust Jesus Christ to bring Kaleesi home. "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." — Matthew 19:14

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, I’m reminded that freedom has never been free. It was secured through incredible sacrifice, defended by generations of courageous men and women, and remains a blessing we should never take for granted.

At Helping Captives, we also have the privilege of fighting for another kind of freedom by helping survivors of human trafficking find hope, healing, and restoration. Freedom is worth protecting, whether it’s the freedom of a nation or the freedom of one life.

Today I’m grateful for our country and thankful for everyone who has served to defend it.

Happy Fourth of July. God bless America.

With gratitude,

Behind every program, survivor, and life impacted is a team that chooses to show up every day.

This week we took a little time to laugh, bowl, and enjoy being together. Moments like these remind us that healthy teams are able to serve others well.

As we continue this work, we’d love to ask one thing of our community:

Please keep our team in your prayers.

Pray for wisdom as we make difficult decisions, strength for the days that feel heavy, protection over our staff and their families, and that we would continue to love and serve with compassion.

Thank you for standing with us. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️

Some of the strongest leaders are the ones who have walked through the fire themselves.

Pain doesn’t have to be the end of your story.

When God brings healing, He often uses that healing to bring hope to someone else. What once felt like your greatest weakness can become one of your greatest strengths.

That’s what we get to witness every day at Helping Captives.

If stopping s*x trafficking and helping survivors rebuild their lives matters to you, join the mission at HelpingCaptives.org.
