In 2026, we are celebrating the 250th birthday of our nation and the 100th birthday of our town. Fifty years ago, it was our nation's bicentennial and our town's 50th birthday. Back then, the Speedway Civic Committee compiled this comprehensive hardcover history of our town. It's filled with photos and info about all things Speedway. It's a Speedway classic and it's out of print. Support the Friends and celebrate Speedway by purchasing this copy for $50.

A FEW GREAT VOLUNTEERS (at least 18 years old) NEEDED on Sunday, April 26th! At 10 AM, we need volunteers who can stand for at least one hour, to mark books that did not sell. At 11 AM, we need volunteers who can bend to put books into boxes. At noon, we need volunteers who can lift at least 40 lbs, to stack boxes and take down tables. You get a great discount on unsold books and our undying gratitude. The Library will be closed; please stand at the front door and ask for Toni.
