Strayer VFW Post 1587 located in beautiful Speedway, Indiana. We're a Not for Profit veteran community organization who's goal is to provide our members and our community with a safe, family oriented place to host parties or special occasions. We are located on the West side of Indianapolis, Indiana near the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway. We welcome all veterans and their families and supp

ort the Speedway community and the community of veterans in the Indianapolis area. Our post has members from all American wars from World War II through Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom. We also have a very active Auxiliary chapter. We have several activities including picnics and outdoor activities in our on-site park, fundraisers, a POW/MIA ceremony and banquet facilities.. We have a casual canteen and provide a safe friendly atmosphere with free access to most major sporting events on our flat-screen TVs. Our Canteen permits smoking, however our banquet/meeting room is smoke free. We provide a very competitive range of beer, wine and alcoholic beverages at very affordable prices. We also have a limited kitchen with a tasty selection of menu items, all at a great price. Make us your home post, join the VFW here or just visit if you're in the neighborhood.

The new law increases the tax deduction for veterans with a 100% disability rating from $14,000 to 100% of assessed value, meaning they won’t pay any property taxes on their primary residences. It also removes the $240,000 assessed value cap.
