Sunrise over the Museum's Restoration and Event Center!

Construction is continuing to move forward on the Restoration and Event Center, which is on schedule to open in May 2027.

Located on Polco Street just outside Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the facility exterior is nearly complete. Now, work begins on the interior areas, including the restoration bays, car gallery, and upstairs event space.

The IMS Museum is a finalist for the International Historic Motoring Awards "Youth Initiative of the Year"!

Since the Museum reopened in April 2025, more than 20,000 students have learned about science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM) concepts and how they relate to racing during field trips, summer camps, and homeschool days at the Museum.

Inspiring the next generation of motorsports fans is a key part of our mission.

On October 6, 1999, Jeff Gordon signed a lifetime contract with Hendrick Motorsports. This display, containing the pen used in the signing of the deal, can be seen in the "Jeff Gordon" exhibit at the IMS Museum.

Calling all Museum members! Join us this Thursday, Oct. 15 for a Member Evening. The Museum will stay open an extra hour, from 5 – 6 p.m., for members only to enjoy extended and relaxed time in the galleries. Arrive at any time and stay later than other guests as you explore the “Jeff Gordon” exhibition, race on the simulators, and view the historic vehicles.

FYI for those planning to visit this weekend: The Museum will be closing early on Sunday, Oct. 18 due to a private event. The Museum's hours will be 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.

Visiting this race weekend for the Indianapolis 8 Hour? Keep these tips in mind!

Museum tickets for this weekend are listed separately from Museum General Admission at imsmuseum.org/tickets.

In addition to Museum admission, you must purchase race tickets on the day of your visit in order to access the Museum.

Hours for this weekend remain 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Due to track activity, there are no track tours from Oct. 7-11.
