There’s something powerful happening in our Rock Steady Boxing class 💥

This isn’t just about boxing—it’s about strength, determination, and community. The Rock Steady program is designed specifically for people living with Parkinson’s, helping improve balance, coordination, and confidence… one punch at a time. 🥊

Every class is filled with hard work, encouragement, and a whole lot of support. We show up for each other, celebrate every win (big and small), and keep moving forward together.

Parkinson’s may bring challenges—but in this space, we fight back. Stronger. Louder. Together.

Meet our new Personal Trainer Sue Jacoby! đź’Ş

Sue Jacoby is an ACE certified trainer who has happily relocated to MDI. Sue recognizes that some people don’t feel comfortable in a gym because they don’t have experience or think too much time has passed since their last workout? Or that they believe exercise is “too hard”, “no fun”, or “not for me”. Sue can change your mind and build your confidence so you can shift your beliefs, build strength, and move today and all your tomorrows.

After a workout with Sue, clients are often surprised to hear themselves say, “This really is fun”, “I don’t believe I just did that”, or “I feel so powerful”. Many of her clients are new to fitness and have never been inside a gym. More than a few are recovering from injuries or are dealing with the aches and pains of life. And some have goals to lift more, go farther, or achieve something they never imagined possible. Contact Sue to learn more about what personal training can do for you. 🌞 Quietside Good Morning Program Coming Soon! 🌞

The Southwest Harbor Police Department is excited to announce the upcoming launch of the Quietside Good Morning Program for residents of Southwest Harbor and Tremont.

This free and voluntary program is designed for senior citizens, adults with disabilities, and other vulnerable residents who live alone.

📞 How it works:
Monday through Friday, our officers and dispatchers will make a brief morning call to registered participants to check in and ensure they’re doing well. If we’re unable to reach someone, we’ll take additional steps to verify their safety.

📝 How to Sign Up:
Call the Southwest Harbor Police Department to provide your information or request a form to fill out. We’re happy to help get you registered.

This program is inspired by the successful “Good Morning Program” run by the Bar Harbor/Mount Desert Police Department, and we’re proud to offer a similar service to our community.

Unleash your inner strength in just 30 minutes! This class focuses on functional movements that build practical strength for everyday life, improve coordination, and prevent injury. We'll use moderate to heavy weights to work your upper body, lower body, and core, helping you feel strong, fierce, and unstoppable. Come discover the power of strength training in a supportive, women-focused environment.
