Love dogs? We need you!

Wags Rescue's greatest volunteer need right now is event handlers. We're looking for adults (18+) who are comfortable handling medium and large dogs at adoption and community events throughout Bucks and Montgomery Counties.

As an event handler, you'll help our dogs meet potential adopters, represent Wags Rescue in the community, and play a direct role in helping dogs find forever homes.

Volunteers are asked to attend a minimum of one event per month, and you can choose the events that fit your schedule.

Doogie is a 4yr old, 45lb Beagle mix. He is much larger then an average beagle but still shorter then most coonhounds, most likely a "hunter's special" mix of the two. Doogie is currently fostered in a home with a senior mid-sized dog, 2 ferrets and 2 children. He is very respectful of the older dog-he wants to be in the same room as him but doesn't push for play or snuggles. He has also met a few neighborhood dogs and has been eager to greet them and go back to whatever he was sniffing. He is also very fond of the kids, not giving a second thought to the 6yr old boy's random wild moments. He is medium to low energy in general and would likely do better with extended low energy activities like walks or hikes, then higher energy activities like going on runs or needing doggy daycare. He did investigate countertops on arrival, but took verbal correction well and hasn't since. He also takes treats very gently (knows Sit command) and hasn't attempted to steal food from little hands or the resident dog.
While passing a cat test before coming to us, Doogie has shown particular interest in the resident ferrets, so we're recommending he does not go to a home with small animals and caution is used with cats.

Meet Leche, a gentle soul with a heart as soft as her name. This beautiful nine-year-old, spayed “magnificent mutt” found her way to us through a local shelter, and since then she has quietly blossomed into one of the sweetest companions you could ever hope to meet.

Leche is hearing impaired, likely the result of chronic ear infections earlier in life, but she doesn’t let that define her. She moves through the world with a calm confidence, guided by kindness, routine, and the people she trusts. Her ability to connect goes far beyond sound—she reads your expressions, follows your energy, and responds with unwavering devotion.

Recently, Leche underwent surgery to remove mammary masses. In the best possible news, every single one came back benign. She’s healing beautifully and ready to begin the next chapter of her life—one filled with comfort, security, and love.

She is both crate trained and house trained, making her an easy addition to a home. She gets along well with other dogs and brings a peaceful, steady presence wherever she goes. Leche isn’t looking for chaos or constant adventure—what she dreams of is simple and pure: a forever home, a cozy couch, and a family to call her own.

There’s something incredibly special about Leche. Maybe it’s her resilience, or the quiet way she leans into you for reassurance, or how her eyes seem to say “thank you” without a single sound. Whatever it is, she leaves a lasting imprint on everyone lucky enough to meet her.

Leche has already been through so much, and now she’s ready to spend her golden years exactly as she deserves—safe, cherished, and deeply loved.

Meet Cecelia — a tiny, radiant soul with a heart that’s been quietly learning how to shine. This 7-pound spayed Chihuahua mix, affectionately known as a magnificent mutt, wears a soft, fluffy white coat that matches her gentle spirit.
Cecelia’s story has a tender beginning. She came from a hoarding situation where love and human connection were likely in short supply. Because of that, the world felt big and uncertain at first. She could be a little snippy in the beginning — not out of meanness, but out of fear and unfamiliarity. And honestly, who could blame her?
But here’s where Cecelia truly begins to glow.
With patience, routine, and kindness from her foster mom, Cecelia has been making beautiful strides. She now sleeps in bed, curled up close — something that once would have felt impossible to her. She’s crate trained, doing well with house training (especially with a consistent schedule), and learning that people can be safe, loving, and hers.
Cecelia isn’t a “plug-and-play” pup — she’s a diamond in the making. She’ll need a patient, understanding person who will give her the time she deserves to continue building trust. But once she finds her person, there’s no doubt she will blossom fully into the beautiful flower she was always meant to be.
If you have a gentle heart, a steady routine, and room in your life for a little dog with a big journey behind her, Cecelia may just be your perfect match.

Memphis turns 1 on 6/8 and would LOVE a forever home because apparently “being adorable” is not enough to pay rent.

This 40 lb hound mix is equal parts chaos, comedy, and emotional support gremlin. He enjoys:
• aggressively sniffing absolutely nothing on walks
• making pig/snort/grunt noises during playtime
• throwing his own toys around for entertainment
• acting personally victimized when told no
• investigating every blade of grass like he’s solving a cold case

The good news? Memphis is fully housebroken, crate trained, and willingly trots into his crate when told, which honestly puts him ahead of several adult men.

Memphis loves people, reportedly lived with kids, dogs, and cats, and still somehow believes everyone he meets is here specifically to admire him. Despite being dumped at a dogsitter and never picked up, he remains offensively happy and optimistic.

What Memphis really needs is a family that understands:

1. Hounds are weird.
2. Sniffing is a lifestyle.
3. Silence is suspicious.
4. Personal space is fake.

Please adopt him before he realizes he’s almost 1 and still doesn’t have his own couch to dramatically flop across.

BudLabby is a sweet 2-month-old Lab/Pit mix with the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. He loves toys, enjoys running around and having fun, then happily settles down to relax by your side. He’s doing great with house training on a schedule and has a gentle personality for such a young puppy, not overly mouthy like many pups his age.

Sadly, black dogs are often overlooked in shelters and rescues, even though they make just as loving and amazing companions. BudLabby is ready to prove that the sweetest puppies sometimes come in the shiniest black coats.
