We'll be out at multiple events across Downriver, sharing love, connection, and visibility with our LGBTQIA+ community and allies. Stop by, say Happy Pride, and help us keep building a Downriver where everyone belongs.

We are happy to report that the Southgate Pride event is officially back on.

This year marks the third year that the Southgate Library has hosted this family-friendly Pride celebration, and we're excited to see it continue. Pride events like this create welcoming, inclusive spaces for LGBTQ+ individuals, families, and allies - and their importance cannot be overstated.

We want to extend a sincere thank-you to The Library Network , who stepped in to handle vendor funding so the event could move forward as originally planned. Their support ensures that this year's celebration remains accessible, joyful, and a community Pride event.

Thank you to everyone who let their voices be heard over the past several days. Your messages, your concern, and your support for Pride highlighted something essential: a community's voice is a powerful message.

The Southgate Pride event is happening! The Library Network stepped up and offered to pay for the vendor, so it's back on as originally scheduled. We hope everyone who was interested can still come!

Downriver Actors Guild has created something truly meaningful with their production of Daniel's Husband. Opening night earned a well-deserved standing ovation, and it's clear how much heart, care, and artistry went into bringing this powerful LGBTQIA+ story to the stage.

DAG has long been a champion of community theater, inclusion, and uplifting LGBTQIA+ narratives which is something we deeply appreciate.

We're honored to be partnering with them for this show, and proud to stand alongside other organizations uplifting the LGBTQIA+ community.

Thank you to everyone who came out to support Party With a Purpose last night! Incredible music at The Odd Fellow Concert Lounge , the community vibes, and the kindness from every corner made it something truly special. It was a night that truly captured the beauty of people from all walks of life coming together for genuine connection. Everyone was welcome, everyone showed up, and the night completely rocked!

A big thank you to Be Well My Friends, an incredible nonprofit partner who brought the music, the heart, and the energy that made this night shine. Check out their incredible story and the work they're doing for the Downriver community.

And of course, as always, we bring the Pride in Downriver everywhere we go!

Pride Month is in full swing and we're popping up all over Downriver!
From live music to theater, family fun, and the Downriver Pride Festival itself - we're showing up, celebrating loudly, and spreading love everywhere we go. And this month, we're turning the energy all the way up, bringing Pride, visibility, and community spirit to every space we step into.

Tonight's group discussed themes of self-love and reinforcing positive self-talk. These conversations always remind us how much strength and tenderness live within our community.

We invite you all to reflect on what it means to speak to yourself with compassion, and how you can nurture a voice inside you that lifts you up rather than wears you down. We also invite you to notice the moments, even the small ones, where you choose yourself, choose growth, or choose kindness toward your own heart.

Our hope in sharing this is simple: that you pause long enough to offer yourself the same warmth you offer others. That you give yourself a moment of grace, a breath, a reminder that even a small act of self-kindness can be a steadying force in heavy times. Be gentle with yourself- you're doing the best you can in a world that asks alot.
