At Liberty, the safety of our customers and communities is our top priority. A public safety power shutoff (PSPS) is a last-resort safety procedure used to proactively turn off power when and where conditions present an increased wildfire risk. Use our tips to prepare for a potential PSPS and wildfire season.

Many of Tahoe's fire adapted residents who live next to forest service lots have Homeowner Agreements with the U.S. Forest Service - Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit. These stewardship agreements describe defensible space actions allowed on adjacent USFS lots and best practices. To find out if you are eligible for one of these agreements, contact the forest service at (530) 543-2789 or visit their website.

The Conservancy also owns and manages sensitive watershed habitat on the CA side of the basin. For those who notice hazardous fuels on CTC lots that could pose a threat to the neighborhood's defensible space, please report it at https://tahoe.ca.gov/report-an-issue/.

Join us on June 20th for a morning of stewardship in Johnson Meadow. Help us pull invasive weeds, learn more about the ongoing restoration efforts, and enjoy a morning in the meadow!

Please meet at 9am at the end of Winnemucca Ave. in South Lake Tahoe. Tools will be provided. Please come prepared for work and to be in the sun with closed toed shoes, sunscreen, and water.
