🏡 Sometimes helping a neighbor takes a little longer than planned.

On Rock the Block day, we had every intention of completing this homeowner’s project. Unfortunately, we ran out of time and had to postpone it for another day. Thankfully, the homeowner was incredibly understanding, and this weekend we were able to return and finish the project.

This is what Habitat is all about: neighbors helping neighbors and a community coming together to provide a hand up.

We are grateful for the donors, volunteers, and supporters who make this work possible. Because of your generosity, we’re able to continue serving homeowners throughout Pulaski County and helping families build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

🚧 Rock the Block Makeup Day 🚧

During Rock the Block, we weren’t able to finish one of the projects, so we’re coming back this Saturday at 9:00 AM, weather permitting, to wrap it up! We may also still have a few other projects to finish on another day in the future.

We’re looking for around 6–8 volunteers to help dig a trench at the property. If you can dig with a shovel, we could really use your help. 💙

Even a couple of hours can make a big difference as we continue serving our community together.

This Memorial Day, we honor the men and women who gave everything for our country and remember the families who carry their legacy forward each day.

Last weekend during Rock the Block 2026, volunteers and the homeowner began working on a retaining wall that had experienced years of wear and tear. This past weekend, we were able to return and finish the project together.

Skilled volunteers worked side by side with the homeowner to help restore and maintain the wall, bringing not only practical support but also encouragement and hope. Moments like this are what Rock the Block is all about. Neighbors helping neighbors and communities coming together to create lasting impact.

Because of your donations, volunteer hours, and support, we are able to continue giving a hand up right here in our community. Thank you for helping make projects like this possible and for showing what can happen when people come together to serve others.

This is what can happen when a community comes together through Rock the Block.

Because of volunteers who gave their time, donors who gave generously, and community partners who stepped up to serve, neighbors right here in our community saw real change in just one day. From cleanup to repairs, every project helped bring new life, hope, and encouragement to homeowners.

We couldn’t do this without our incredible volunteers, partners, and supporters who believe everyone deserves a safe and decent place to call home.

Special thank you to Pulaski County Detention Center for helping remove brush and multiple tires from the neighborhood, and to the City of Somerset for providing the dumpster for the event. Your support made a huge impact!

So ironic finding a horseshoe during Rock the Block on Derby Day… no it wasn’t planted by us. I had to take a photo of it! So what an amazing day! So may your horse come in during the race and don’t forget you may need a tax deduction and what a better donation than to give to Habitat for Humanity of Pulaski County, KY

📣 Rock the Block – Derby Day Edition

We’re getting ready for Rock the Block this Saturday! 💪

Thanks to our volunteers, we’ll be serving four homes in our community:

📍 One on North Maple Street
📍 The rest on Griffin Avenue

🕘 We’ll meet at 9:00 AM at High Street Baptist Church parking lot to get started.

From there, we’ll organize teams and head to each project site.

We’ll be wrapped up in time for you to enjoy your Kentucky Derby plans later that afternoon 🏇
