📣Update on Avian Influenza:
We are currently still closed for public events and tours due to the rise of avian influenza (HPAI) in our adjacent counties. We will only take in raptors from negative counties. We advise you to avoid handling and contact KYFW for birds that do show symptoms such as:
🔺Lethargy
🔺Neurological issues like loss of balance or coordination
🔺Respiratory issues like nasal discharge or sneezing

From specialized feeding supplies to enrichment items, every contribution makes a real difference in their recovery. We are in need of some frozen fish or deer meat for our birds of prey! If you have any meat, please drop by the refuge or call 606-679-9453. We just ask for the meat to be free from any lead sinkers or bullets please. This will help directly support the daily nutrition of our raptors at the refuge.
