🇺🇸 25 Years Later, We Remember.

Today marks 25 years since September 11, 2001, a day that forever changed our nation and touched countless families, communities, and generations.

We remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost. We honor the firefighters, police officers, first responders, members of our military, and ordinary citizens who showed extraordinary courage in the face of unimaginable tragedy.

We remember those who ran toward danger to help others. We remember the families who never got to say goodbye. And we remember the unity, compassion, and strength that brought Americans together in the days that followed.

For those of us in the greater New York community, the memories of that day remain especially close to home.

On this 25th anniversary, the Somers Lions Club pauses to honor every life lost, every hero who answered the call, and all those who continue to carry the weight of September 11th.

May we never forget the lives behind the numbers, the courage amid the darkness, and the reminder that even in our most difficult moments, we are stronger when we stand together.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸

🇺🇸🦁 Happy Labor Day from the Somers Lions Club! ❤️🤍💙

Today is about more than a long weekend. It’s about celebrating the people who show up, work hard, lend a hand, and make our community stronger every single day.

Here in Somers, we are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by neighbors, first responders, educators, local businesses, volunteers, community organizations, and families who truly care about this town and the people who call it home.

That same spirit is at the heart of the Somers Lions Club. We believe strong communities are built when people come together, step up, and find ways to make a difference. Big or small, every act of service matters. 🦁💛

So today, take a break. Fire up the grill. Spend time with family and friends. Celebrate the unofficial end of summer and the incredible people who keep our community moving forward. 🇺🇸

From all of us at the Somers Lions Club, Happy Labor Day, Somers!

💙 Proud to serve. Proud to give back. Proud to call Somers home.
