What an incredible evening at the 17th Annual Dinner Banquet & Casino Night for A Soldier’s Child Foundation.

Hosted at the MTSU Student Union Building, the night was filled with fellowship, patriotism, generosity, and heartfelt purpose as we gathered together to honor and support children who have lost a military parent in service to our nation.

Guests enjoyed an exciting Casino Night experience, silent and live auctions, and an outstanding performance by Aaron Nichols and The Travellers. One of the most meaningful moments of the evening was the premiere showing of our new “Out of the Shadows” sizzle documentary, sharing the heart behind the mission and the lives being impacted through ASC.

While the final count is still taking place, we are humbled and grateful to share that we should surpass a net profit of $160,000 from this year’s banquet.

To every table sponsor, event sponsor, donor, volunteer, auction contributor, guest, and supporter, THANK YOU!! Your generosity is helping provide camps, mentorship, birthday celebrations, leadership programs, and hope to thousands of Gold Star children across America.

Because of you, these children know they are seen, loved, and never forgotten.

From the bottom of our hearts, we are grateful for you in standing with A Soldier’s Child Foundation.

As we enter Memorial Day weekend on this Friday, May 22nd, many people across our nation will celebrate in different ways. Some will gather with family, enjoy time on the lake, cook out with friends, purchase a mattress, or simply enjoy a long weekend.

But the true meaning of Memorial Day is far deeper than a holiday weekend. Memorial Day is a sacred day of remembrance set aside to honor the men and women of our United States Armed Forces who gave their lives in service to our nation. It is a day to remember the price that was paid for our freedom and to recognize the families forever changed by that sacrifice.

Give this weekend in support of the children left behind, the children we serve every day.

For many military families, Memorial Day is not simply one day a year. It is every day. It is the empty chair at the dinner table, the folded flag displayed in a home, the missed birthdays, graduations, weddings, and life moments that a fallen hero never had the opportunity to experience.

At A Soldier's Child Foundation, we have the privilege of walking alongside children who carry that loss every single day. This weekend, we simply ask that America pause long enough to remember the true reason for Memorial Day.

To those who honor this weekend with sincere remembrance, gratitude, prayer, and respect for our fallen heroes and their families, we thank you. Your heart of gratitude matters more than you know.

In honor of all those we remember, Happy 250th Birthday America!!

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13 🇺🇸

ASC PARENTS:

We have created a brand-new video that walks through our camp processes and procedures to help make signing your child[ren] up for ASC camps as smooth and easy as possible! Whether you're new to ASC or your kids are ASC camp veterans, please take a couple minutes to watch this video! 😊

Here's what ASC moms are saying about our camps:

"The application process for A Soldier's Child was incredibly straightforward, instantly easing my anxieties as a parent. When my son Jeremiah first attended Journey Camp, I was terrified, but Daryl personally called me, put my mind at ease, and took Jeremiah under his wing. Over the years, my children have grown through Journey, Culinary, and Photography camps, while I found my own healing through the Mom's Story Study retreat. Now 15 and 16, my kids are well-rounded, independent travelers, and Jeremiah even chose with a free heart to be baptized at camp. Signing up is simple, but the lifelong, faith-filled impact on your family is truly immeasurable." ~ Danielle C.

"We have been blessed to find A Soldier’s Child during our teen’s process of grief and recovery and couldn’t be more grateful. From the ease of signing up for camps, to the response and communication of their staff, to the engagement of their camp leaders with our child providing mentorship before, during and after each camp; their presence has been truly impactful. ASC has stepped in to fill in the gap providing the godly influence, motivation and mentorship our son lacked with absence of his father. They have truly transformed our child to the best version of himself." ~ Jessica V.

"A Soldier's Child has made such a meaningful impact on my son’s life through the camps they provide. These camps have given him more than just fun memories — they have given him a sense of belonging, confidence, support, and connection with other children who understand similar experiences. Through the friendships, activities, and encouragement he receives, he has learned to open up more, build self-esteem, and enjoy moments of happiness and healing. Seeing my son smile, feel included, and create lasting memories in a positive environment has meant more to our family than words can express. We are truly grateful for the love, support, and opportunities this organization continues to give military children and families." ~ Rachel S.

FROM ASC MOM JENNIFER:

Dear ASC,

Thank you so much for the opportunity to lead the mom's Story Study TX 2026 retreat at Camp Allen.

Throughout the weekend, the Lord Jesus moved powerfully in the lives of these incredible women through worship, devotions, vulnerability, fellowship, and prayer.

From studying the story of Lazarus and participating in meaningful moments of healing and release, to sharing testimonies, creating vision statements, and encouraging one another through prayer, the retreat was filled with deep connection and the tangible presence of the Holy Spirit.

One especially powerful moment was watching a 50-year-old widow overcome her fear of heights to complete the zip line in honor of her late son.

We closed the weekend by praying over each woman individually, and many shared how strengthened and renewed they felt in their faith.

Healing, hope, freedom, and joy were truly present, and I am so grateful to have been part of such a meaningful time together.

A Soldier's Child Foundation (ASC) would like to thank Mark and Alisha Taylor of Prescribed Hunts and Dr Douglas Tolleson Chief Scientist Sonora Research Station at Texas A&M Agrilife.

13 young men who had lost their fathers while serving in our nation military had the time of their lives hunting Axis Deer at the Sonora Station.

It was an incredible time of mentorship, healing, and an absolute thrill of the hunt for these young men.

"Thank you for giving us the opportunity to go out and hunt this past weekend. I was able to harvest a huge Axis Buck. An amazing adventure. I'm so grateful that y'all care enough for us to give us this opportunity."
-Sawyer Slayton

"I'm currently attending A&M as a Aggie Cadet, seeking my Marine Commission. I'm proud of my father's sacrifice for our nation and of my University to give the younger ASC kids this opportunity. I look forward in seeing more young men get this exhilarating hunting experience." - Keegan Baldwin
