Big thanks to Keep Louisiana Beautiful for providing a grant which enabled Keep Slidell Beautiful and the City of Slidell, Louisiana to install FOUR new trash receptacles in Olde Towne Slidell’s busy entertainment area!

These locations see a lot of foot traffic, especially on weekends and during events, and unfortunately, also see a large amount of litter. By adding more conveniently placed trash receptacles, we hope to make it easier for everyone to help keep Olde Towne clean, welcoming, and beautiful for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

This project is another great example of what partnerships and grant funding can do for our community. Special thanks to Keep Louisiana Beautiful for continuing to invest in local beautification and litter prevention efforts.

Remember: clean streets don’t happen by accident — they happen when a community works together. Please help us keep litter in its place!

🌧💚 RAIN OR SHINE, SLIDELL SHOWED UP! 💚🌧

Despite an early morning downpour and a rain delay, over 200 volunteers came out for our Citywide Clean-Up—and the results were incredible.
Together, we:
• Collected 88 full bags of litter (nearly half a ton!)
• Removed 2 tires and 11 bags of soft plastics for recycling
• Beautified two spaces in our community

Special shoutouts to:
✨ STARC of Louisiana, Inc. Camellia Aktion Club for sprucing up the gardens at the Council on Aging
✨ Northshore JROTC + Boy Scout Troop 365 for their hard work in Greenwood Cemetery
✨ Our litter crews from Salmen High JROTC, Slidell Women's Civic Club, Northshore Roller Derby, Little Oak Middle School Green Team, Boy Scout Troop 351, Slidell Widow's Club, Ochsner, Nortshore Technical College, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. - Tau Iota Omega Chapter, Rotary Club of Slidell, Foundation Church of Slidell, Magnolia Forest Garden Club, and the many families and individual volunteers who spent the morning with us!

This is what community looks like—people showing up, getting a little wet, and still putting in the work to keep the Camellia City beautiful 🌸
