🛒 Shopping at your local farmer's market may help you stretch your food budget this summer! Many farmer's markets across New York accept SNAP benefits as well as WIC, Senior, and Veterans Farmers’ Market Nutrition Program (FMNP) checks. 🍓🌽🥬

Some markets also offer incentive programs like Double Up Food Bucks, which can give you additional money to spend on fruits and vegetables when you use your SNAP EBT card. 🙌

You too can be a gardener!

No garden? No problem. A single pot of herbs can help you save money over time.

Fresh herbs at the store can cost $2–$3 for a small bunch—and they don’t last long. A small basil plant can cost about the same and keep growing for weeks with proper care.

🌿 Easy options to grow at home:
• Green onions (regrow from scraps in water)
• Mint (grows well in containers)
• Basil (needs sunlight and regular watering)
• Cilantro (great for cooler weather)

You don’t need a garden - just a window, a small pot, and a little care.

During their “Let’s Lead the Way in May” campaign, the students at Waterman and State Street schools collected 279 pounds of food for the Food Pantry. Thank you all for leading the way to help our neighbors! We hope you have a great summer!

Birthdays are special as our youngest community members know! Many thanks to the Skaneateles Nursery School for donating Birthday Kits for our neighbors and helping to make their birthdays special! The kits include grocery bags decorated by the Nursery School children which will be used to distribute the Birthday Kits.
