The Skaneateles Area Arts Council is a non-profit organization dedicated to celebrating the visual & performing arts by creating an environment where community and cultural activity thrive. SKARTS presents arts programming, concerts, studio tours, and other activities to support its community grants. Since our founding in 2006.....we have provided financial support to over 30 organizations in th

e Skaneateles area...we have awarded grants totaling over $110,000 to local artists and art organizations...we have showcased the creative work of over 125 individual artists at our annual art shows.

In 2025, SKARTS awarded a grant to Auburn Public Theater to supplement funding needed to take 90 youngsters (with a plus one) to see WICKED on Broadway last summer.

We are so proud to support life-changing experiences for our local community, and we want to help more! If you are an artist or art-related organization with community-minded projects in need of extra funding, please submit for a 2026 SKARTS Grant. Deadline is May 31, 2026. In 2025, SKARTS awarded the Seward House Museum a grant in support of their summer event : Shakespeare in the Gardens. For this event, the Seward House Museum partnered with Syracuse Shakespeare-inthe-Park to present their production of Twelfth Night in the Museum’s gardens. For over 20 years they have presented free summer shows in Central New York.

Our 2026 Grant Applications are now OPEN! If you are an artist or art-related organization with a community-minded project within 15 miles of Skaneateles, we encourage you to apply!

SKARTS Grants making an impact in our local community!

In 2025, SKARTS awarded grants to 14 local organizations, including Auburn Public Theater (APT). With their grant, APT was able to supplement funding to take 90 people (youngsters with a plus one) to see WICKED on Broadway, study filmmaking, and explore culinary arts this past summer.

Today, more than ever, we need to help each other and help our community thrive!

This year, we will hold a raffle benefitting the local FOOD BANK & OUTREACH PROGRAM. ALL raffle proceeds will go to help fight hunger and those in need.

Plus, one lucky person will walk away with an enormous basket filled with one-of-a-kind creations and certificates, original art and yummies, specially picked from each of the local vendors at the fair! A WIN-WIN!

Don't miss our 8th Art4SKARTS Art Show & Sale this September 25-27th! Over 40 local artists will be showing and part of the proceeds will support the 2026 SKARTS Grant program.

The opening reception will be Thursday, 9/25 from 5-8pm and tickets are required. The show will continue 9/26-27, 10am-3pm both days with free admission.

The Skaneateles Historical Society Museum was one of ten 2024 SKARTS Grantees. Our support helped enhance their Children's Scavenger Hunt—an extremely popular addition to the community and the Museum's visitors.
