Youth update:
We had another great crowd Wednesday night in the Youth Room. Sorry we were having so much fun, I forgot to take pictures.
We enjoyed fellowship and a meal with Jersey Mikes Subs, serving by packing candy bags for Joy boxes, and we even managed to spend a few minutes in our Bible study reading and discussing Mark 1: 16 - 28.
So far in Mark we have seen Men such as John the Baptist, and some Disciples, satan & his demon's, and even God himself acknowledge that Jesus is the Messiah. While the crowds are still making up their minds about Jesus they are beginning to notice with amazement his teaching with authority and the news about him is spreading quickly.
On Sunday and Wednesday night next week we will begin looking at some of Jesus's Healings as well as the calling of Levi, Fasting and the Sabbath. I have asked the Youth to at least read through Chapter 2 of Mark this coming week and to consider the following Questions.
What is the purpose of Jesus's healing of the sick?
Why would Jesus choose Levi, a tax collector and sinner, over the religious leadership of the day to be a disciple?
How does Jesus's explanation of fasting and keeping the sabbath differ from the religious leaders?
