🎊Congratulations to Rachel Schutz on recieving the 2026 Meghan Conners Heart of Resilience Award.🎊
This award honors the legacy of Meghan Conners, a survivor leader who courageously shared her story and lived experience expertise with professionals across the country to strengthen and improve the response to human trafficking. Meghan passed away in 2025, leaving behind a powerful legacy of courage, compassion, and system-changing advocacy. Through her work with the Human Trafficking Training Center and her leadership as a survivor, Meghan challenged systems to listen more closely, respond more compassionately, and center lived experience in their work. She used her voice to drive meaningful change, believing that survivors must be heard to create safer, more effective responses.
Presented in partnership with the Oregon Child Abuse & Human Trafficking Summit, Safety Compass, and Oregon’s Regional Human Trafficking Task Forces, this award recognizes an individual who embodies the courage, kindness, and commitment to collaboration Meghan demonstrated throughout her life.
Rachel Schutz's dedication to elevating survivor voices and centering lived experience has helped transform our systems response in powerful and lasting ways. Rachel's consistent commitment to survivor-led perspectives is evident in both her professional work and community efforts, where she ensures those most impacted are not only heard, but valued as leaders in shaping change. Through her leadership, she has advanced trauma-informed, survivor-centered approaches that prioritize dignity, safety, and empowerment. Rachel's ongoing engagement in anti-trafficking and survivor advocacy work reflects a deep and unwavering commitment to this mission. ♥️
