My garden consists of Lego plants 🧱 But no matter what color YOUR thumb is—💚 or 🖤— The Oregon Garden in Silverton knows how to bring plants to life!

Members of The Garden will be presenting at our club meeting June 4th 🪴 🌷 🌳 The 130-acre botanical garden features specialty gardens that showcase the diverse botanical beauty of the Willamette Valley and the Pacific Northwest. So, if plants are your thing, the garden is where to be. And if plants aren’t your thing, check out their 🧑‍🏫 educational events 🧑‍🎨 Art in the Garden 🌅Sunset Sundays 🎶music events, and more—no green thumb required! Plus, they’re celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, too 🎉

READY TO HAVE A REEL GOOD TIME?! 🎣 Free Fish Day is back for the 30th year in a row on June 6th! The Silverton Lions Club provides the fishing gear and buddies 🦁🙋 Silverton Kiwanis Club provides the food 🌭🥤Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife provides the fish 🐟 Silverton Fire District and Silverton Police Department will be on hand 🚒🚓 and First Student School Buses are helping with transportation 🚌 — all FREE to you!

Why, Y? Why not ⁉️ The guest speaker at our club meeting this week is the Silver Falls YMCA. Rooted in the Silverton area and serving the surrounding communities, the organization is a welcoming place where people of all ages come to grow, connect, and thrive 👶👧👨👵 And have you heard...they have a new facility on Lewis St! 🏫 We'll hear all about their programs, new classes, The Garage, and what else is in store for the Y 🎉

🌟TODAY is the 2026 Kiwanis Pet Parade 🌟 Watchers & Participants, are you ready for it?!

🐾 All types of pets are welcome! Children without pets are encouraged to dress in costume. There is no registration or fee to participate in the parade. Because our sponsors are the bees knees 🐝 Silver Creek Animal Clinic LLC, BST Realty LLC (Lisa Santana), Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Timothy L Yount (Tim Yount)!

🎉 Participants line up by category beginning at 9:30 AM in the staging area located on Coolidge and Apple Streets (near Coolidge/McClaine Park) — check out the map here! The Parade starts promptly at 10:00 AM on Coolidge Street and travels along Main Street to First Street ending at the new Civic Center site.

🪧Groups are encouraged to identify themselves with a banner or sign.

🛻🛵Vehicles and Large Animal Trailers🐴🐮—All parade vehicles and large animal/horse trailers access the staging area via Fiske Street. Check out the map!

🛍️All participating children receive a “goodie bag”

While we’re gearing up for the 🐾 2026 Kiwanis Pet Parade on May 16th, we’ve got other animals on our mind as well…like LIONS 🦁 and FISH 🎣

The guest speaker at our club meeting May 7th is the Silverton Lions Club 🎤 They’ve been serving our community since 1938 in numerous capacities—scholarships 💰 pancake breakfasts 🥞 Scouts 🇺🇸 vision screenings 👀 and more❗️We’re excited to partner with the Lions on June 6th for Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife’s Free Fish Day at Silverton Reservoir 🎣

📢 We’re less than 30 days until the 2026 Kiwanis Pet Parade 🐾 Since 1932, children of all ages have delighted in one of Silverton’s most treasured events.

Join us at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 16, 2026, as we celebrate hundreds of pets of all varieties – from snails to llamas – as well as marching bands, floats, and clowns 🐶🐱🐹🐮🐴🐔🦎

🚫💰There is no registration or fee to participate in the parade. If you are interested in participating, check the Lineup by Category list, Staging Area Map, and Parade Procedures. Participant’s line up by category beginning at 9:30 a.m.

📍🗺️ The Parade starts on Coolidge Street and travels along Main Street to First Street ending at the site of the new Civic Center.

❓Why can you never trust atoms? ⚛️ They make up everything…ok, enough of that 📢 Our Silverton Kiwanis Club guest speakers April 16th will be 8th-grade students from Silverton Middle School. They’ll be telling us about their recent science projects. In previous years, they have focused on social media use, water quality, and more. Can’t wait to hear what they’ve been studying this year 📚
