On June 4, 2026, Passion for Purpose Arts Ministry held its final workshop and Bible study session before summer break. Our focus was Proverbs 16:24:
“Pleasant words are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.”
This verse reminds us that kind and encouraging words can comfort, strengthen, and bring hope. That message came to life through the healing cards our ministry created. Each card is more than paper and art—it is a vessel of God’s love, compassion, and encouragement, carrying uplifting words and prayer to those who may be sick, lonely, grieving, or discouraged.
As we create and share healing cards, we put Proverbs 16:24 into action by becoming messengers of hope. A small card can carry a great blessing, reminding others that they are loved by God and remembered by His people.
During the workshop, A’sheyrah and I created beautiful zigzag healing cards, and A’sheyrah completed her Scripture panel painting. It was a meaningful time of creativity, fellowship, learning, and service. We are sincerely grateful to the Alms Center for providing such a welcoming space throughout this session, and a special thank you to Ms. Grace for her faithful support.
Thank you to all our ministry members for your dedication, creativity, and servant hearts. We pray you enjoy a safe, restful, and blessed summer, and we look forward to seeing everyone again in October as we continue using art and creative expression to share God’s love and bring healing to our community.
May God continue to bless Passion for Purpose Arts Ministry and all who faithfully serve through it.

On Thursday, May 21, the Passion for Purpose Arts Ministry completed the Mirror Church Project. More objects were glued onto the mirror frame, lettering was done, and encouraging words were added to the mirror itself. Pictures were taken, and everything was complete. The lesson from the project is to see ourselves the way God sees us. The Bible study taught us that God’s Word acts like a spiritual mirror, helping believers see themselves through God’s truth rather than through pain, rejection, mistakes, or others' opinions. Using the text of James 1:23–25, the lesson explained that many people forget who they are because they listen more to negative voices than to God’s promises. The bible study reminded us that we were created in God’s image, are fearfully and wonderfully made, and are loved, chosen, and valuable in God’s sight. While people often judge outward appearance, God looks at the heart and sees purpose, healing, and potential.
Participants decorated a large mirror with scriptures and affirmations designed to remind them each day of their identity in Christ. The lesson encourages believers to reject negative labels and begin speaking God’s truth over their lives. The main message is: do not define yourself by your wounds, failures, or the world’s opinion. See yourself the way God sees you: loved, chosen, forgiven, and created with purpose.
The mirror was presented to the church during our Pastor’s Anniversary Celebration, where it now stands as a meaningful reminder of God’s truth and love. All who see it can reflect on its message and be encouraged by its purpose. We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Passion for Purpose Arts Ministry members for completing another inspiring project with excellence.

During April and May at the Alms Center, Passion for Purpose Arts Ministry gathered to design and make bracelets. What started as a creative activity became a meaningful journey into the Word of God as we learned about the history and meaning of bracelets in the Bible, something many of us had never heard or thought about before. As we worked with beads, stones, colors, and designs, we discovered that bracelets in the Bible were much more than decoration. They carried deep spiritual meaning. In biblical times, bracelets were often made with precious metals and gems and were worn as signs of blessing, identity, love, covenant, and honor. One of the earliest examples is found in Genesis 24, when Abraham’s servant gave Rebekah bracelets after praying for God’s direction concerning Isaac’s future wife. Those bracelets became a symbol that God had answered prayer and was guiding Rebekah into purpose.
We also learned in Ezekiel 16 that God spoke of placing bracelets on His people as a sign of love, care, and a covenant relationship with them. In another passage, 2 Samuel 1, King Saul’s bracelet represented identity and position. The Bible also teaches in Isaiah 3 about how God warned against becoming consumed with outward appearance while neglecting the heart. As we studied together, many of us were surprised to learn how God used stones and gems. God had the ancient priests wear the ephod breastplate with 12 stones to represent the 12 tribes of Israel and to show that his people were precious, remembered, and carried before him in love as an intercession. Gems used in biblical jewelry later influenced traditions associated with birthstones and the months of the year. Over time, some of those traditions became connected to horoscopes and astrology, shifting the focus away from God and toward the stars. But scripture reminds us that our identity, purpose, and direction come from God, not from astrology, signs, or superstition.
The greatest lesson we learned is that God cares more about what is in our hearts than what is on our wrists. A bracelet may be beautiful on the outside, but a life connected to God shines even brighter. Every bead, every stone, and every bracelet became a reminder that God knows us, values us, shapes us through life’s experiences, and calls us to reflect His love and glory.
Thank you to everyone who participated in bracelet-making, the Bible lesson, and the healing card ministry. Your presence, creativity, kindness, and willingness to learn God’s Word made our time together special. We also send our prayers and love to those who were sick or unable to attend. Please remember that God sees every act of service, every prayer, every helping hand, and every heart that desires to serve God’s Kingdom. May God continue to bless each of you for your faithfulness, your compassion for others, and your willingness to grow in God’s Word together.

Sunday before last, Passion For Purpose Arts Ministry was beautifully showcased at UBT. My heart is filled with appreciation to God for the many years of faithful service, for the devoted volunteers who give so selflessly, and for the message of Christ’s love we are blessed to share. I am especially thankful for the overwhelming love and encouragement from my church family, as well as the kindness and support from the Voorhees, NJ, community group and the Girl Scout troop. Together, these expressions of love remind me that when we serve in unity and faith, God’s light shines even brighter among us.
