🐺💚We had an awesome time celebrating our 8th Grade Wolves today!

A huge shout-out to The Salvation Army Kroc Center in Salem for hosting a fabulous afternoon filled with fun, laughter, and time for our students to bond and make lasting memories together.

As our Wolves prepare for their next adventure in high school, we’re grateful for opportunities like this to celebrate their hard work, growth, and accomplishments.

Honoring Mr. Lorenzen’s Legacy

After 44 years in education, Mr. Lorenzen is retiring, leaving behind a remarkable legacy of service, leadership, and character.

As parents, we wanted to recognize all he has done for our students, staff, and families these last 7 years at CVMS. His steady leadership has guided our school through changing times and countless challenges, always keeping students at the center of his work.

While he is often there to redirect students when needed, he is just as quick to recognize and celebrate the positive things our Wolves do each day. He takes the time to personally follow through on positive referrals and has made recognizing our Students of the Month a meaningful tradition at CVMS.

We want Mr. Lorenzen to know that his Legacy of Character will continue long after his retirement. To honor his impact, the CVMS Parent Group surprised him by revamping the Student of the Month bulletin board in his honor—a lasting tribute to the values he has instilled in our school community.

A special thank you to Sara Dean, Sonia Serlin, and Weathered Ways (the Scharfenberger family) for their creativity, generosity, and hard work in bringing this beautiful bulletin board to life.

Thank you, Mr. Lorenzen, for 44 years of making a difference. Your influence will be felt for generations of Wolves to come. 🐺💚

Earlier last week, students who have worked incredibly hard in Math and Reading Lab were recognized for their academic growth with a well-deserved pool party!

This celebration was a fun way to honor their dedication, perseverance, and progress throughout the year. We are proud of all they have accomplished and grateful we could help fund this special event and creating opportunities to celebrate student success.

One of our favorite events to support each year is the End-of-Year T-Ball Game at Newberg High School. ⚾

This special event brings together our students with different needs and the peer mentors who have supported them throughout the school year. It’s a day filled with fun, friendship, encouragement, and plenty of smiles.

The CVMS Parent Group is proud to help to provide lunch for all of the CVMS and NHS students who participate. It truly takes a village to make this event happen, and we are so grateful for the staff, families, students, and community members who show up to help create such a memorable experience.

Thank you to everyone who helps make this day so special for our students. It is a wonderful reminder of the power of inclusion, connection, and community. 💚🖤⚾

Our sixth-grade students recently visited OMSI, where they explored the Titanic Exhibit and experienced the many hands-on attractions the museum has to offer.

This exciting field trip provided students with opportunities to connect classroom learning to hands on experiences while having fun alongside their classmates.

The CVMS Parent Group was proud to help fund the buses that made this memorable excursion possible.

These last few weeks have been filled with so much end-of-year fun and celebration!

The Chehalem Valley Middle School Parent Group has had the opportunity to really show up for our students by supporting a variety of memorable events and experiences, including:

⭐ An end-of-year T-ball game for our students with different needs and the students who help support them

⭐ A 6th-grade field trip to OMSI to learn about the Titanic

⭐ A pool party for our Math and Reading Lab students

⭐ Retirement recognition for Mr. Lorenzen and his years of dedication to CVMS

⭐ An 8th-grade celebration at the Kroc Center

⭐ Cookies, popcorn, and cotton candy for multiple events and classroom celebrations in the next week!

Thank you to everyone who supports the Parent Group and helps make these opportunities possible. It’s been a wonderful way to celebrate our students, staff, and school community as we wrap up another great year!

8th Grade End-of-Year Information

8th Grade Field Trip – Kroc Center on Tuesday, June 9th.

8th Grade Mixer with MVMS students on Tuesday, June 9th from 6:00-7:30 pm

All enrolled middle school 8th grade students are welcome to attend. This is not a formal event, so students should dress casually.

8th Grade Promotion celebration June 11 from 6:00–8:00 p.m.

We will have a couple of food trucks available, and we look forward to celebrating this important milestone with our students and families.
